Why ford is dissing the ranger

Like I said in another thread ...... Ford is not getting another dime from me until I can afford a new Mustang or they start offering a vehicle that I want. I am tired of the big 3 dictating what I will buy..... I am going to vote with my wallet and buy a compact diesel powered crew cab that is roughly the same size as the Ranger ....... When Ford pulls their head out of their ass and offers a Diesel powered compact crew cab in the United States then I may consider them again ...... I am tired of every time I walk onto dealership to look at a new Ranger the salesman tries to get me into an F150 ....... I hate the F-150 ........ its too big.... I have a full size truck and its a 3/4 ton, I don't want another unless I am upgrading to a Dually....... what I want is something that is easy to drive and park ...... not something people will think is an over compensation for something else ........

I remember a Sergeant telling me not to buy a Suzuki Samurai (a brand new 1992 still on the lot in late 94) ........ because of all the bad things he heard about them.......

X2 This F150 the owners bought for us to use is a POS. It has been in the shop more than not. right now the horn is disconnected because I checked the fluids and closed the hood and the horn stuck on! Brought it into the stearlership and got it back with the horn still disconnected saying they are waiting to a factory service moemo on the problem. Driviing it more than 30 minutes and my legs lgo to sleep the seats are totally designed wrong. It creaks and groans more than my 15 year old jeep

I will not buy another ford until they get a clue

so i went out and talked to the dealership the other day... looked at a 2010 ranger... asked the guy if ford was really getting rid of the ranger... he told me NO they werent.. then he brought up a very good point... he told me to look at the grand marquis and the crown vic... they was suppose to take them off the market a while back but then he showed me both in a 2010 model so im not worried about it people will always want a ranger it sells too good and makes ford too much money... and that Mahindra looks like a jeep with a bed

That's a good point...except that Ford is discontinuing the Crown Vic and Grand Marquis too. And they're doing it in 2011, the same year as the ranger. What a coincidence

I'll call it a piece of shit all I want and I will point and laugh at anyone that has one.Not like anyone is going to do anything.That truck ( or should I say cracked out looking sports trac ) is ugly as sin. It doesn't look like a truck nor will it function realistically as one.

I've seen this already because the fire truck company my department is dealing with ( we are buying 2 new fire trucks from them ) is trying to con our chief into purchasing 2 of these ugly ass monstrosities as a chief and assistant chiefs department cars. The company is apparently purchasing so many to sell to fire departments when released.Needless to say. It's turned into a fight at our department, because we were going to buy 2 extended cab Rangers with custom bed enclosures or Explorers as department vehicles.

nothing you said there makes it a POS ...... Just your nose is all bent out of shape because you wanted a pair of supercab rangers...... Although I agree that anything bought with tax payer dollars should be american made, unless an American made equivalent is not available.

you don't have to get the Crew Cab model. They are also importing a regular cab with a 7.5' bed, and Gen 1 Explorer sized SUV........

And they don't look that bad ... I can think of several GM and Dodge models that are uglier ...... and that Global Ranger is just as Ugly as the Mahindra ....

I've seen the global ranger and I agree. It is ugly as sin too.If you want one , get one. They offer me nothing personally. I have my Ranger extended cab ( which fits 4 adults or 3 adults and my kid and her car seat). It offers me what I need when needed.That thing offers me nothing more.

I've had my wife,mother,myself and my kid with her car seat in the truck and everyone was comfy.Tight,but comfy. So my truck does what I need it to do. No more and no less!

I just do not see that thing having that big of a share of the market honestly anyways. If any one buys them.Odds are it'll be upper class folks for the most part. A small market will be middle class I'm sure. I'm sure if my wife see this thing.She'll try and tell me lets trade the Ranger in for that thing. That is when I ask for a divorce and custody of the truck!
