so im stuck, i think i have narrowed it down on what i want; but i have a problem. i cant find it.

id like a v8 but if i really have to ill take a I6

id really like a ford but if the right deal comes ill cross to the forbidden zone.....

auto or stick doesnt matter. id really like a carbed car mainly beacuse i want something diffrent. it needs to have heat and windsheld wipers. also has to be driveable.... i might have 8 to 9 to spend....

It's better to wait for one you feel good about, rather than to go out and buy something just because it's "there" and you're just dying to buy something.

Patience, man. I think it's super cool that you want something "old school".

Just be patient, and stay in the driver's seat- buy something that you'll love more in the future, instead of something that you'll regret getting into, and end up selling. A good buy, and intelligent ownership including "sweat equity" investment (i.e.- the work and cash you put into it) will only increase the value of an otherwise depreciating commodity- vehicles in general.

The trick here, is to have something which provides SOME level of transportation; and at the same time provides you with something you truly love owning. The real cool trick, is that the longer you own it, the more valuable it becomes.

Old school vehicles will definitely put a big grin on your face, but only if they're fun; by all means remember to keep the fun in it.

seriously, you want something that is stupid simple, reliable, and cheap to fix....... get a chevy 1500 4x4........ common as dirt........ a dime a dozen, ginormous aftermarket and the parts are dirt cheap.


but ....... I would take the pinto in a heartbeat.

Personally....Id go for a 73-79 F series.

Might use a lil gas, but they are tough as nails, parts are cheap, and a monkey with a wrench could work on one.

....if you find a LTD II/Thunderbird of the 77-79 Vintage there also good cars. Ive had quite a few LTD II's (own one now) and theyve all been awesome cars. My LTD II can still pull 23mpg on the interstate and ride and drive like a cadillac.

They suck in the snow though.
