There is no "neutral starting Sensor" on the M5OD-R1 manual transmission

what EARLY Mazda transmissions had was a neutral SENSE switch which has NOTHING to do with the starter circuit.

And even if there is a switch on your "new" transmission your 1995 has no wiring to connect to it because the EEc5 system doesn't use that switch, then again neighter did the 1993-94 EEC4 3.0 engines.

So if your trans has the switch on the PASSENGER SIDE of the top cover
with a "pigtail" to a connector, my advice is cut the wire off close to the switch and FORGET the switch is even there.

Okay, well the only switch is on the driver side.. im guessing thats the backup switch.

so what do i do about the neutral switch? or will my truck start anyways?

IF you had the correct "sub harness" that breaks off the engine harness
and runs to the trans and looked real close to the connector on the transmission
side of the plug/socket you'd see a little loop of wire connecting two pins together to bypass what WAS the "neutral SAFETY switch" different switch) that is found on automatic transmissions.

I don't have a 1995 EVTM so I can't tell you what color those wires are

welll shoot, i guess i shouldnt have taped into the harness already.. there is one grey wire that splits into 2 wires.. but i dont see any loops.. its there an actual neutral safety sensor somewhere else on the truck? cause autozone shows this black box thing call the neutral safety sensor

here is another wire diagram i have a password for mitchel ondemand so i get all the good info. hope it helps out. if you cant read it well pm me your email and i will send it as an attachment and then hopefully you can zoom in on it.

the only connector on your tranny that the engine or anything else cares about is the reverse sensor, my '89 chassis had the neutral sensor, my later '89 ('90 model year, made in '89) didn't have one, I simply dindn't plug anything into the neutral sensor when I swapped the '90 body on the '89 chassis
