Fan Clutch Std or HD?

Whatever h.p. freak. You can stay up there in Canada and laugh at us "stupid" Americans. When was the last time your great country built a domestic vehicle. Oh that's right they haven't. Keep arguing with the nay sayers here. It will still get you absolutely nowhere. I'm done arguing with you. And by the way the fact that you still won't answer how much professional experience tells me you have none. I personally have 8 years and still don't claim to know everything, and I am still up for suggestions and advice.

Sounds to me like HP Freak is the one getting laughed off the board.

ive been there, i got the shirt. it sucks.

a disengaged fan clutch is freewheeling. the only thing spinning the fan is the drag on the support bearing. you can stop it with your bare hand (but dont try, i dont want you to bruise your delicate fingers).

which brings me to another point. you can hold a disengaged clutch fan stationary with one finger. how much horsepower does one finger produce? ill give you a hint: not much. this means when a clutch fan is unclutched (such as traveling down the freeway or when the motor is cold), the parasetic draw is the equivilent to one finger trying to stop the motor. that is a negligable amount at best. this means power and fuel economy will be the same as it would be if the clutch and fan were completely removed from the vehicle.

are you starting to understand how hard it is to be more efficient than a properly functioning clutch fan?

HI!... Do you understand that I still went faster in the 1/4 and get better MPG without the clutch fan???????? And the truck runs cooler?????????

Hi!... Actually we built the F-150 in OAKVILLE and the FIREBIRD was built in QUEBEC. 90% of all FORD modular 5.4's and 6.8L v-10's are built here in Windsor. your point?????

Well if you must know 17 years and worked at a local FORD dealership. I also service a fleet of JOHN DEERE heavy equipment that our company owns, plus boring machines and all the small gas engine equipment.

HI!... Well I'm done arguing with people who think their right no matter what. Enjoy arguing among yourselves. I still will suggest electric fans, cai's, and underdrive pulleys to people who want to know about good bolt-ons. They work, have been proven to work, and tons of people out there are using them and seeing great results. So do whatever you want to your vehicles. I'll do whatever I want to mine and make H.P/TQ and get better MPG at the same time. :icon_rofl::icon_thumby:

dyno sheet or GTFO

Why should he? I'm sure he doesn't care what some internet bozo's think about his truck, in the end he ran faster down the track and got better mileage which is all that matters. You guys take the internet way to seriously, you wonder why TRS is the laughing stock of all the ranger boards.

Wow, just reading this board shows me how much ignorant people are out there. Duh of course the e-fan is superior to the mechanical fan. Especially when offroading. A lot of guys who go mudding and trailriding would agree. Hell...even vehicles being built on that show Xtreme 4x4 on spike tv use them. If you have a truck that does heavy towing, then you get a heavy duty e-fan where you can set it up to accomodate what you r using it for.

TWo points!

Vehicles being built on ANY show are given to them to advertise! If they DIDN'T put silly shit such as that on their work they would be out of business!! It's all about making money. Have you EVER seen one of them say such and such was a scam?

That truck you mention that does heavy towing... Didn't it COME with a clutch fan? All my heavy duty trucks came with one. Now on the other hand my newer light duty trucks all came with Efans. Something to do with milage estimates for the window sticker.
