Project: Moose-Knuckle

Simple and cheap. I like it.

Tomorrow it's welding the bronco ps box flange to the ranger shaft and boltin more shit up. Everything's back together, painted, and pretty.

I'm hopin to get steering set in stone tomorrow, bleed the brakes, run the PS lines, and get to work on the rear drive shaft.

I've spent 400 more then I've made this month on the project some how. I'm sellin my old jeep coils tonight, so I'll have some money for shocks and beer when all is said and done.

By the time I got off work it was too late to take any pictures. My B.

It should be streetable by thursday.

WOW THIS THING IS HUGE.Last night she pulled out of adams garage as a new truck. No pictures or videos because it was so dark. She had a few kinks to be working out but she should be good now.Today we got air out of the power steering, pulled the "new" drive shaft and put a new u-joint in.Tomorrow Adam's gonna throw the drive shaft back in and it will be drivable again.Their are a few things that need to be done still, new gas tank cross member, cross member in the front for added strength and front square drive shaft, bolting power steering box,and clearance the front t-case cross member for the new front drive shaft.

So now it's down to having a custom pitman arm made.

Or a new PS box. The Bronco the box came from had a 400. There was a lot of room in that engine bay for a steering shaft w/ a decent angle. Well I'm not so lucky. The box had to be mounted at an angle to keep the flange from coming undone and to have a decent shaft angle. This angles the pitman arm down horribly. Because I ran the leafs under the chassis, under compression, the drag link/pitman arm will hit the leaf pack. Balls. There's no room on the inside of the chassis for a yota style box. So technically I need a "lift pitman arm" Yes, this fucks the drag link angle, but I'm planning on running high steer in the near future. What ever, it'll get me through the winter right now.

So, i need a new pitman arm, a 21 tooth gear for around the rear drive shaft/output flange, shocks, and that should about do it. Oh, and shims for the front to correct the aweful pinion angle. Oh yeah, and a front drive shaft.

Rome wasn't built in a week.
