Turn signal relay part number/which part to get?

2000 Ford Ranger XLT 2.5L RWD

I found the turn signal relay location but i need to know what part to get. Rock Auto has two different kinds. Standard black relay with five pins (Standard Motor Products PN# ELF4) and (Motorcraft PN# SF631). The SMP ELF4 has the exposed terminals while the Motorcraft one has a skirt around the terminals. They are in the same group under 2000 ford ranger 2.5L Electrical. Are these two relays interchangeable? Rock Auto link to relays

I see one says it's for the Hazard, and the other says it's for the turnsignals.

With very few exceptions, 12v 4 or 5 pin relays can all be made to work. Are the pins in the correct place? (They usually are.)

I know some Ford relays are rated at higher amperage than anything on the shelf at the parts store.

The skirt around the pins tell me it may be designed to lock the wiring connector into the relay. If the original uses that and the new one doesn't have it, the wiring could come unplugged over time depending on location and mounting.

That all applies to generic relays.^

Since were talking flasher relay specifically. You need one tuned for right wattage bulbs to flash at the correct speed. I'd bet that why this is a thing:

One of those has to handle 4 bulbs at a time vs 2 for the turn signals. Does make me wonder thought if there are 2 separate relays for left and right though.

I would try one of the electronic styles or at least a "heavy duty" style relay. They will work with most any bulb load.
