Hey guys I know I asked somewhere way back what oil pan is needed for 98 302 to 96 ranger I'm thinking 79-95 mustang is this correct and best place to buy it and oil relocation kit
Thanks

I suspect you're right, I used an oil pan for a late 80's/early 90's Crown Vic interceptor when I put the 351 in my 93. Also, use some good motor mounts- meaning NOT ones from Anchor.

Does your Ranger have TTB? Or is it torsion bar and rack&pinion steering? I don't think you meed to change it if you have the torsion bar setup.

The TTB Rangers require the older 2 sump oil pan used on the Mustangs because the crossmember is different. I can link to that oil pan when I get home, since I recently bought one.

1996 should be TIB/TTB, both will need the dual sump pan setup.

Well, in that case, this is what I ordered. However, It's not actually in the Ranger yet.

Kinda what I was thinking, but u will need new bolts if like mine it's a 98 and aluminum pan so bolts are longer than steel, the aluminum pan wouldn't go in place because I think it was the thickness of it, it is a double sump . Did u get a oil filter relocation kit yet

The donor is a 98 mountaineer rack and pinion 96 ranger is not . The pan on donor is a double sump but wouldn't sit right I believe cause thickness of aluminum pan not sure but definitely wouldn't sit down all the way

Yeah, different dual sump. You need the one like what Eric posted.

The one you have is great for 98-11 trucks, not 83-96

This thread has some discussion on that.
