Front Fuel Leak 1993 Ranger 4.0 XLT Auto

I may go to the depot and get some bendable band iron or a nice little piece of more sturdier moldable metal.

I've successfully used shim stock before.

You should be able to find it in small sheets, in varying thicknesses, so that you can pick the one or two thicknesses that you think will work best to roll up.

Sorry for starting such a humongous thread here. I think I am almost at the finish line hopefully. 🫪 I'm trying to find out the correct thread size on the fuel pressure regulator fitting so I can purchase a new 6an fitting to run new lines. In what I'm reading It's either 14mx1.5 or 16mx1.5. I'm wondering if I can just measure the thread size that's on this old fitting (photo below). Or I can just purchase two bolts at 14m or 16m and see if it fits.. Does anyone know the correct thread size in this fitting.

You need an adaptor fitting. That is not an AN fitting. I think you need a "female inverted flare" fitting to adapt to an AN fitting.

Or, if that next hex-shaped part that this hose was screwed onto can be removed from the regulator, it will likely expose normal pipe threads, which are easier to adapt to. Show us the top of the regulator, please.

Yes, I know, I bought this fitting today. Hopefully it fits the thread on the regulator, if not I'll send it back to Amazon.

If that works. Take note of the part number. Lots of people looking for that fitting.

@Curious Hound @SenorNoob @lil_Blue_Ford Im stoked. The fuel pressure regulator fitting came today from Amazon, and sure as hell fit perfectly, I just installed it,,, I didn't want to guerilla it too tight. With my luck I would have stripped it or messed it up somehow.

It came with a small rubber o-ring, which I had to very lightly glue one side and fit (drop) it into place on the bottom of the threaded female fitting. If I didn't use any type of an adhesive the o-ring could have shifted from its state of being flat on the bottom of the fitting and it could have possibly been damaged. I didn't want to place the oring into the fuel regulator fitting end, because it looked like it would have fallen in and I would have had serious issues I'm sure.

So now I'm one step closer to the end. I'm gonna purchase another one for the return line off the fuel rail. If anyone needs to know what size it is it's an M14-1.5 AN Fitting. Here's the link and photo of the AN fitting.

I just posted the amazon link for the part in the above post, I also uploaded a photo and the fitting size (M14 -1.5 AN).

My pleasure to help anyone here on the forum. Remember to put that o ring in place using a small dab of glue and bottom it out before you tighten it up. Do not put that o-ring into the regulator end it could possibly fall in.

I would recommend grease instead of glue. An O-ring needs to move as it gets deformed in the tightening process.

This is my next step. I need two of these elbows and also braided AN line. I'm not sure if I should get a 45 degree elbow or a regular elbow. Your thoughts?

Well its too late as i jumped the gun. I was anxious to get it in, I only used a tiny drop of 3m adhesive. Hopefully it will be ok. 🙏. Thanks for the input.

https://a.co/d/098NETW0 I'm think im gonna have to return the Dorman kit now, I may hold onto to the Dorman kit to get some ideas

I'm wondering how to join the other end of the AN line to the stock ford fuel spring disconnect fitting below. Anyone have any idea? I'm sure I'll figure it out. But it's good to get some ideas from you guys.

The Dorman Kit, I'm not sure how this would interface with the AN fittings now. As it probably won't.
