What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

Well, it went 4 days. today I got in, started it up and it did the test and turned off. took David to school came home no ABS. This afternoon I got in it to go to a doc appointment and it did the test, turned off, then came back on. And on it stays... I got my shining beacon of light back on the dash... oh well.

because of this little issue, I am thinking that the problem may lie in the wiring and not the ABS module itself, but not sure If I even want to go down that rabit hole... haven't needed it for 20 years, so probably won't need it in the future lol

I’m pretty sure my green Ranger is possessed or has gremlins with the ABS…

Well, Choptop is back together. It rained all day and I ended up putting up a canopy and fighting problems…

Even ended up calling @holyford86 at one point… my headlight upgrade harness that I got from Bronco Graveyard wasn’t working as advertised. Low beams were high beams and vice-versa. After a bit of troubleshooting, turns out the black and white wires on the part where it plugs into the factory headlight plug need switched.

It's probably wired for 9007 bulbs not 9004 like an '89 would have... since the only wiring difference between the two is two wore locations... Found that out when I put 9004's in my '97 F350 without looking it up...

So, the harness was advertised on Bronco Graveyard as a heavy duty upgrade harness for the 89-92 that upgraded to 9007 bulbs. So I put the harness in and put a pair of 9007 bulbs on it and modded my headlight buckets for the bulbs to fit by trimming two of the three alignment nubs. I had high and low beams but they were opposite. Turns out the black and white wires need switched where it plugs into the factory harness. I’ll find out tonight how well it works.

Drove to the lake today as I needed some time in nature. Within the last month i found some a-corn style lug nuts from a ranger at the pull a part. Cleaned them up and installed them. Never like those ugly bulky center caps that ford did back in 95+..also gave the rims a good polish. I call it my ghetto hot rod..

Some pictures of my new friend and the Vulcan that powers it. This Ole 3.0 sounds good with this flowmaster og 40 for it being a stock engine. A picture i still have of my Ole friend..my 94..I still miss that ranger.
