Pickup might be done for

Couldn't get the bellhousing and engine mated together. Going see if I can get a shop to do it for me or if I can sweet talk my cousin into trailering it back home to his shop for me. With finals coming up and my buddy who's cherry picker I'm using moving back east, I'm out of time

Make sure the torque converter is seated all the way into the pump.

generic tips:
are you using guide bolts? I get 2 longer bolts and cut the heads off to use as guides. they can hold a lot of the weight, then you just align it & push.
can you see all around the bellhousing, nothing is in the way. wiring harness
they have to be aligned when still about an inch apart, then keep even as the gap closes.
if the top won't close leave it there and pull the bottom back out enough to get everything even.
don't use bolt tension to close up the gap, that's how thinks break.
you can do one bolt at a time finger tight as the tranny is jostled around, no wrenches.

Yeah, sometimes getting it lined up and pulled together is a headache. Actually the last time I mated the engine and trans in my F-150, I used a ratchet strap to put tension between them while I wiggled and jiggled stuff to get it to line up. Once it all lined up enough, that tension popped it on the dowel pins and it was good to go. I really should make myself some alignment pins though

I got guide bolts in the two bottommost holes. I'll have the time to work on this during spring break if the weather cooperates. If all else fails, I'm buying my step grandpa's '03 Ram 3500 next summer and I'll load it up and take it to wherever I move to.
