Just the bottom part of the C channel was bent up. Put a 15" adjustable wench on it and bent it down with some persuasion. Not all the way but better than before.

I can turn around and sell the pitman easier than a home built steering setup. So when I SAS whether its next year or 5 years from now, I will have an easier time getting money back.

I do infact have a set of crappy 35" ATs to try out to see how they fit. When I replace the bed and fenders, I will trim up the new ones as they dont have fender flares (from a 2wd truck.)

maybe, depends on the quality of the work.but i'de be hesitant to sell a custom setup just for the liability.make sure you do something like this if you get the mega drop arm(or any drop in my opinion)
your frame will thank you

EDIT: my cpu is so slow loading pics i just now noticed my rear bumper on your truck! oh wait i have shackles not d-rings. did you use light-n-boltz for the license plate? i drilled some holes and put in napa 1" lights. on either side.
i will probably cut off the bottom 2"s and weld a 2" strip at a 45* angle at some point like the front of my truck.

Actually, I dont have any lights for my rear plate yet. Never heard of these light-in-bolt things. I will have to check them out.

That would be another concern. The liability involving the home built set up and what not.

I have already been thinking about one of those reinforcement struts for the steering box. I think it was your build that I read about it in.

I got my 4.88s installed yesterday!!!!!!!





A buddy of mine that used to work at a couple of different shops rebuilding rear ends and installing gears full time happens to own a ranger that he is working on lifting. So I traded him a door and a fender for doing my gears.


I went back today cause it was his day off and he was going to be working on his truck. Basically kicked his ass into swapping in the manual tranny. He was majorly pumped about it. I am thinking just drive with the front hubs engaged...... The catch is that that only works on the coast side of the gears.....


Any one have suggestions on how to break in front gears? They are used so is it even necessary?

That's that chunk you picked up already geared right?

If they are already used, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

despite being used, its still a new pattern that i think the gears will have to wear into each other.. but this is a complete guess

Started working on sliders today. I am using a parts truck because I plan on restoring my rockers to the way they were before so I needed a good reference point when building these.

Material is 1.75" square tube with 1/8" wall.
