Finally starting to make some progress on some of my junk.

The bronco is up and mobile. Its running really good. I had that weird issue where it acted like it was starving for fuel when it was cold. When i reinstalled the tank i noticed the supply line looked like it had been kinked...i made it straight and stuck it in the retainer...low and behold today after sitting all weeked she fired up right properly.

Brakes on it are finished...and its stopping good and straight. The back brakes im pretty sure hadnt been changed since bush sr wss in office...so thats good.

Now i just got a few tiny lighting issues, fix/replace back bumper, put the new dipstick tube in, and tidy up the interior and shes ready to rock.

I also got that PITA of a ford 2n i bought running tonight. Eveidently 6v ignition parts dont like 12v running to them. Fixed the wiring up and got it reduced down to 4 or 5v at the coil, new points/condensor/coil and shes running like a top.

Next on the list is the cobalt...im hoping its a plugged cat. Then im gonna start back on the LTD.

So yeah....just alot of stress off my mind this week

It’s always a relief when you get them running right.

My TO-20 has the 6 volt starter along with the points and condenser. I put a 12 volt coil on it from Tractor supply. That resolved my 12v/6v conversion issues that the previous owner had.

Thats what i should have done to begin with. But i seen it had the extra resistor so i figured it was still running 6v stuff. After burning up stuff left and right i realised that someone had bypassed the factory resistor and was just running the extra one. So i replaced the old factory resistor, rewired some stuff, so now it has 2 resistors which if how it is supposed to be.

I ran it for 45 minutes yesterday and it did great. So fingers crossed

When I bought mine, it was partly tore apart. The owner said it would run but told me to convert it back to 6v because it “never ran right as 12v” although a casual look told me the wiring was… janky. The 6v generator was long gone and it had an alternator so I just figured I’d fix the wiring and do the 12v conversion the right way.

Basically the same case i had. The thing smokes like a 2 stroke also, and the oil pan is full of sludge as was the canister for the oil filter. Bastard holds 20psi oil pressure at a hot idle though and dont hurt for power. Im gonna try a few tricks to see if its stuck rings
