HI everyone

(SARCASM)I don't think anyone here knows anything about off-road stuff...(SARCASM)

A few of the off-roaders

Post more details and specifics when you get some time.

Welcome to TRS.

We have a few members that have done some stuff.

What kind of off roading are you looking to do? That will help us guide you in the right direction and we LOVE spending other people's money!

Seriously, the truck is quite capable off the lot once you get rid of the highway terrain tires they come with and being that you have an FX4, you are already more ahead of the game compared to the usual 4X4 Ranger In some ways.

The biggest thing is getting some decent off road tires. All Terrains can work as will mud terrains, depending on what you plan to do.

Depending on how in depth you want to get, making a build thread might be a good idea so you can keep everything in place for future reference, rather than having to hunt for it all over the forum.

Welcome to TRS! Gonna @Robertmangrum.rm He has the most off-roads mods on a newer truck that I'm aware of...

Here's his build thread:
"The Grey Squirrel" My 2020 XLT Sport 4x4
Really my truck isn't built that much at all. @Jim Oaks TRS3 has a Skyjacker 3.5 in lift i beleive. I'm only running a 2.5 in puck up front and an add-a-leaf in the rear. Besides that I'm still on factory Sport shocks and struts. Most all my mods are to accommodate for camping ease. Of course the winch and rock sliders for safety.

As far as building your rig. You will be shocked how capable these new Rangers are out the box. With the FX4 you should have the rear e-locker. Which makes it even more capable. Like others said. Just get out and wheel it. I lifted mine for more ground clearance from larger tires. I always say recovery and protection first. Then you can determine whether you need or want a lift.

Welcome Tib! Off-road you say? Like it was said these in stock form are very capable. With the stock wheels, gearing & perhaps some decent tires, these are hard to stop on the trail. Keep them tires in tight for more clearance. More weight on all fours. I use an Atoto S8 flat screen in the dash running "All Trails" with satellite network, no cell towers required. Hopefully I'll never get lost (except when the wife tells me to). Wonder what axle code & ratio you have in your FX4?

Do your due diligence & change out the transfer case fluid (ATF), and the front & rear end oil. Most of us have a small lift at least. Me, just a 2 inch at the front, and only 3/4" in the rear. Helps clear the 33s..

We love to look at pictures.....you know? Get your own thread started & look forward to reading it!
