What did YOU do today?

Changed the oil innthe wrangler.

Found the code for the 24 ranger and got into it with forscan.

Turned on
Police mode so no flashes when i lock or unlock with the fob and i also set police speed limit to 140. Not that i ever will do it but if there is some kond fo global emergency, i dont want to be bouncing of the limiter at 108.

I turned off the setting the rolls the windows down if you hold the unlock button down in the fob. I hate that.

I turned off the seat belt screen that is on when turn the truck on and stays on until you hit ok and comes back on anytime someone latches or unlatches their seatbelt. No more hitting ok all the time.

Lots of googling and i am unable to find anyone in the known online workd who has figured out how to turn off auto start / stop on the 24/25 rangers. No forscan, no plugging something into a charging port, no plugging something into the trailer harness, nothing works on the new ranger except pushing the button or paying for a module from amazon or ebay.

Oh well

I need to look into that extended license or whatever its called. I did get the abs took care of on the awd escape somehow but the other things im wanting to do I cant access yet.

Spent a little time uploading a few more vids to my YouTube channel after church, then went out to play in my new shop. Which means I was moving stuff around and organizing. Taking stuff out that doesn’t belong even though it used to live there, bringing stuff in that now belongs or that I would like it to belong there. Really already starting to wish it was another 4’ longer. Not all of what I would like to fit there is going to fit there. There’s just physically not enough floor space.

That presents an interesting situation. If I moved all of the retaining wall stones that are currently stacked up behind this thing, there would be another 4’ of space to extend. Since I don’t yet have the metal to sheath this thing in, there is no hardship there. The tarp that was original to the “shed” has really started coming apart and I already have a temporary tarp on it. I’m done with tarps. Metal is going to happen. I don’t particularly care what length I have to look for and I’ve hauled up to 28’ on my F-150. Anyway, the important bit… I have a tube bender and a 180* die for 1-5/8” tube which is pretty close to the size of the tube that makes up this tarp shed so it wouldn’t be all that hard to make a matching extension to make this thing 4’ longer.

Which brings me to a couple questions for myself…

How bad do I need/want an extra 4’ of shop space?

This may be answered in the near future as I finish setting up shop and finding out what does and what doesn’t fit. If enough doesn’t fit, this may almost be a requirement.

If I go through the trouble to extend this thing 4’, do I just make something to match the original and live with that simple solution, or do I bend up something with vertical walls for the whole thing to get rid of the sloped walls that eat space?

As much as I would like to do the vertical walls, this may just be a time/money factor of not worth the trouble. I have other things I could be doing right now but this shop space will be super valuable to me for doing said other things. I’m trying not to get super invested in making this space perfect because it’s supposed to be a temporary solution. I just need it to work for now.

So yeah, more to come I suppose. What’s probably going to happen is I’ll finish trying to get settled into the space and see if another 4’ needs to happen, which is entirely likely. Then it will be extended as simply and cheaply as possible.

Come look at my carport while it is still up. It might give you some ideas.

Probably a lot of bad ideas, lol. I need to focus on getting the dump truck fixed after I fix the green Ranger again and focus on cleaning up my property so I can get my garage up and be done with this stuff all together

Hopefully this temporary shop will only be for the next year or two until I can get my garage up. Unless unforeseen circumstances occur again. Then I’ll probably either give this to dad for more covered space for him or I’ll move it to my property next to the garage as overflow space or something. Since my garage that I currently have in pieces is only supposed to be temporary quarters until such time after the house is built that I can build the permanent garage and then both temporary structures will hopefully go to a camp somewhere, lol.

busy day, and its not even 3:00. changed oil in both escapes, snow tires off of the awd, checked air pressure in my fwd. battery in the tractor so I could back it into the garage. Supposed to have some weather come in shortly. Its been chilly all morning & Im thinking I might call it a day for outside stuff. Gathered 9 eggs so far. Had 15 yesterday. look at my garage, I need another one, maybe something like a storage building setup so each thing can come out without having to move something else. What you cant see is behind the gator parked sideways is a wheel horse with a rear tiller & in the back corner behind the 8N tractor is the zero turn.

And there’s an owl on the light trying to get into the canoe like that’s gonna go somewhere…

Oh, and if I wasn’t pathetic enough in the pink grippy socks, and the hospital gown, they made me wear this.

And there was no mirror, but everybody kept looking at my hair net. I fear there was a big “L“ on it.

All the people were great, I highly recommend the Emory system if you’re in the range.

So much for the 1” cut!

About 6 inches. When they cut me, I was lying on my back and they roll your arm over your chin, so your hand is kind of by your left shoulder and the elbow is pointing almost straight up. So all the blood runs to the low point, which is actually the inside and top of my arm once I get out of that contorted position. And then the bandaging moves all that around, so you get this great horrific ring/rainbow effect.

They don’t warn you, so when you take the bandage off, you crap your pants all over again.

Later, I went down to get something to eat and took a side journey as I passed the 28/29 Cable Conover.

In the beginning, I thought Lincoln was singing with me, and then I looked up. It was only Mary had a little lamb, but, although awkward, it was the first time I could hit all the notes in a couple years. To me, it was as Chopin…

😁😁😁 about that.

And yes, I know the violin needs to be cleaned…

Didn’t make as much progress as I had hoped to today, but progress was made. Spent a bunch more money yesterday and today on my temporary shop but it will all be worth it directly. My temporary shop will have temporary electric, lol.

My tax refund came in yesterday. So, I'll be ordering the off road bumper insert for the 2019 and maybe some steel rims for the 2011's mud tires.

Watched a house a stones throw down the street burn down yesterday.. arson.

The arsonist just stood on the sidewalk in front of the house as it released all its stored carbon into the air.. admiring his handywork.

He's out on 500$ bail as of this morning lol.

It's a shame really.. I live in the stereotypical defunct mill town.. so all the houses are shit.. pretty obvious nobody has the cash for basic home maintenance.. one of those towns that kinda just.. sucks.

..and dude torched the nicest house in town 🤦🏻‍♀️ of course. Took 6 towns to put it out. Big ol 1800s sumbitch.. that old wood burns real good.

:buttkick:

That thing has no place in this shop. It’s bad enough that I already have to undo hackery that I’m unfortunately responsible for just to get power into my shop. Power is being done correctly.
