I need to get the passenger door panel off of my '93 XLT to replace the speaker, but the screw holding the window crank is frozen. It's as if the person who replaced that speaker c.2000 used red Loc-Tite on that screw when he put it back on.
I used a 2.5mm hex wrench to deal with the driver side and it seemed loose, but otherwise went off/on easily. 1/8" hex key on the passenger side seemed to fit, but I started rounding out the hex and so stopped.
Have any of you had to cut that window crank off, or otherwise get it off the hard way, and how did you do it?
TIA – this is definitely another case of "why me?"

I'm pretty sure that is a Torx head screw. You might try, getting a good set of Torx bits and use a hand impact driver. If the Allen wrench boogered it up a little, even the right size Torx bit may need to be gently tapped into the screw head with a hammer.

The old-school hand Impact driver is the one that you tap with a hammer; I wouldn't beat too hard on it, being part of the window regulator, but a tight bit and a little turning with each hammer tap may do the trick. Judicious use of a battery powered impact gun may work, too. Good Luck!

You are correct and I just figured that out. Pretty sure the driver side was hex, but passenger side is def torx. I have already swapped out that speaker.

Thanks for the input!
