Preparing my truck for snow?

And also, we don't have any of the "you pull" yards near me anymore that I'm aware of. We used to have Kenny U Pull 20 minutes from me but I think that's gone now? I honestly haven't checked but maybe I should.

We've lost all our decent southern Maine yards over the past few years too. Ingersons in Freeport was AWESOME.. yard was HUGE.. walk around all you want.. and he was extremely reasonable on pricing. Cancer got him unfortunately, and nobody wanted to keep the business going.

All that's left now are mostly pre-pull places that want 75% the cost of a new part.. and the few remaining you-pull yards don't have anything that old.

Yeah it's too bad, those places I heard were awesome. I have never been to one but drool when I see my favorite YouTubers going to those places to find parts. I'd love it just to be able to find all of the OEM obscure bolts and fasteners lol. I have a feeling I'd come home with all kinds of bits and bobs that I might (probably never) need.😆

Yeah, right near Bangor. I'll check and see if it is but I heard they closed.

Yeah, it looks like you're right, I'm sure they were there earlier this summer as they were showing up in my searches.

Hey guys, I got my snow tires but am wondering which tpms sensors I need to buy and is it possible to have 8 sensors (both sets of wheels) programmed to the truck at the same time? I was going to just run without them on my winter wheels but figured maybe as well have them since these snow tires should last me years and if $100 saves me from having to stare at that tpms light all winter then I can deal with that.

I tried finding info on OEM ones but they aren't listed on parts websites. Also see a set of 4 on eBay for $35 but not sure if they are the right ones?

Will these work? I hope so because $35 ain't bad but when looking up the part # on Tasca, it says it fits just about every 2011 Ford except the Ranger.

The ones on My 2011 Ranger were the style that were on a band around the rim

Some replacement sensors are cloneable so you can have them match the ones on the truck, that way the truck doesn't know which set of rims/tires/sensors you are running

Thanks! So the truck will know that they aren't the correct sensors unless I get clone able ones? I see that they have to be a certain mhz as well? I didn't think they were that complicated lol

Thanks, I wonder if I need any weight in the back with snow tires? Maybe 1-150lbs?

I always liked 150-200 pounds of weight myself.

The thing is these trucks are rather light, especially the regular cabs. They weigh 500 lbs less than a Mustang and no doubt less than most sedans. A couple extra pounds ertainly doesn't hurt

you can have too much weight though, then if (when) you get into a rear slide it can be hard to bring it out of cause the butt end will want to keep going. don’t over do it.

Great idea, I'll grab something like that
