A sort of update, mostly a wake up call
I’m feeling rather embarrassed and guilty this morning. I got a lot of rain, but I’m not aware anything was damaged. The power outage was an inconvenience at most.
When my power came on, I watched an old movie just to relax. Then I went to my usual condition of having the news on in the background as I did other things.
I slowly caught on that a lot of people were hit up whole lot harder than I was. That caused me to actually sit down and flip to some local channels, all of which were reporting devastation around the area.
I was serious when I put my prayer message up yesterday, but last night I returned to prayer for those less fortunate. Flooding in the area was apparently extreme, one house actually floating away with the flood. It was actually the first ever flash flood emergency in Atlanta.
Lord, forgive my arrogance, and I pray again for all those affected. Before I tackle my own issues, I’m going to make a few calls to see if there’s anyway I could help. I posted before that, when I was hit by the tornado in 98, people showed up out of nowhere to help. I say nowhere, but they came from a local church. They helped me regroup all day, and that went on for several weeks on the weekend. To this day, I don’t know who the people were on that first day. I would be honored to be one of those anonymous people for someone in need right now. At this point, I might just be in the way, but I’ll go check, and at a minimum I will write a couple checks. Red Cross being number one.
Say a prayer folks, maybe say too.
