2021 Ford Ranger FX4 TRS-3 Project Build

Ok, I'll have to take a look. Thanks.

Remember the front plastic panel that was messed up on my Ranger when I bought it? I said someday I'd replace it.

On April 14th I sold the original wheels and tires to Atheer Alhneen on Facebook Marketplace.

When I met up with him I learned that he buys 2019+ Ford Rangers that are damaged, fixes them, and sells them. I mentioned that soneday I need to fix that panel.

On April 15th he contacts me and tells me he can get me a replacement and have it painted for me. I'm busy and don't contact him back right away.

The deal was to good to pass up and on April 22 I give him the OK and the paint code. I figure he'd get around to it the next day. Nope. On the 24th he send me a photo and tells me it's ready!

I went down to his shop (Putivar Auto Sales) in Arlington Texas yesterday and picked it up.

Now I just have to figure out how to get the old one off.

While I was there I saw this Ranger he just sold:

And they were doing the final detail work on this one:

That's the Ranger my wheels and tires went on.

I looked at some other vehicles he had that were sold waiting to be picked up. They all looked showroom new.

Speaking of that Ranger, I really like the LED headlights he put on it.

I added LED bulbs to my stock headlights, but I may upgrade to these. That top led section of the light flashes amber left ( on the left side) when the turn signal is on.

I wish I would have found this guy before I bought my Ranger new from a dealer. I probably could have got a better deal on a nicer Ranger.

Did you notice the Land Cruiser in the other photo?

His uncle imports them, fixes them up like new again, and sells them.

Well, I will say if you bounce it off a tree, it pops right out, haha. Don't ask me how I know. Pops back in, too, though.

So, now that I finally finished painting the shop I started working on the Ranger some more.

I replaced the plastic cover above the bumper.

Then I installed the ARB snorkel.

Looking good.

Thats one hell of a cow catcher! holy moly 😳. I like the ditch lights or whatever you'd call them mounted to the uprights.

I'm torn between the snorkel used above and the one that uses the existing hole the fender "vent" uses. The above looks better but the other is less hole drilling and cutting of the sheet metal.

Consult @lil_Blue_Ford 's avatar for advice on the matter.

I'm not really a fan of any lights above the hood. I guess you'd call them ditch lights, but they're wired individually more like a police cars alley lights to light up the side of a trail. Also good for hunting my dog when he strays after a dog in heat. LOL.

I like the other style as well, but this one was way more budget friendly. That one is $520. Ford Accessories is offering this one for $250. They're offering an additional 25% off until July 7th.

The other style runs along behind the fender instead of outside of it, and enters the engine compartment in the same area.

I also read that the inner fender tubing is rubber material that cracks in extreme cold. I know the ARB is also rubber but a lot shorter. I'm hoping not to have that issue. Plus we dont get many extremely cold days here.

I’ve had this avatar half of forever, lol. Actually kinda looking to have something similar made that’s actually mine instead of something I saw years ago but so far nobody that I’ve asked to make me something has come through with it.

Ya know. I never zoomed in on that to see that there are words, until now. Good motto.
Surprised more people haven’t taken a close look at it, lol. I’m often the one that friends call when they need to put holes in their toys, lol

Rubber isn't always just rubber. It's been pretty common in oe intake ducting forever.

Cheap rubber does cheap things.

ARB usually doesn't mess around.

Rubber isn't always just rubber.
That right there is an important mouthful. There are many different rubber “compounds” based on natural rubber with additives AND there are many synthetic “rubber” products that have no natural rubber in them. All compounded with properties for different uses.

there are usually 4 or more different natural rubber compounds in just one tire.
