What did YOU do today?

Woke up to about 4 inches of great packing snow. So I did what any new grandpa would do and built my best buddy a snowman...

Nice job! It even looks like you.

Lawn tractor turf tires generally don't handle mud well.

Hell, they hardly handle turf well either. I could use a set of those chains just for driving around on my wet lawn and ditch bank, but I don't think I'll have much luck finding them around here. Needs tires anyway, so I'm going to get something with a little more aggressive tread.

Good luck and feel better. I had the flu the week before Christmas.

Hope y'all are feeling better by now, same for @19Walt93 with his hip replacement (but don't over do it).

Seems like that was going around a lot this Christmas.Seemed like half the people in my office allegedly caught the flu the week before Christmas, most of the rest were already on leave.

My contractor showed up today, there was actually 2 tanks buried in the ground. Dug them out & now have a tank underneath the house. Not that I find it ideal but its damn sure better than 7 ft under the ground beside the well. Money well spent! Took them all of 3 hours. would of took me all day, possibly a whole weekend.

I need to get mine looked at eventually. Smaller tank, 5 gallon I guess, but it's already under the house. A freeze a few years ago and it broke my pressure gauge, not sure if it affected the tank. Need to get it checked and see if they can up my pressure a little. Also have some questions about the well system before I build a shop on the property.

Today I played musical wheels. Dad wanted the wheels on my donor Explorer Limited for his Ranger, so I dug a set of rollers out of his barn the other day. Today got those swapped over, then loaded every thing up and swapped the Limited wheels in place of my Explorer 18s that had been on his truck for too long. Now I need to figure out how to play musical tires without breaking the bank.

With all of that done I got to relax and put a new battery in his laptop. Hopefully tomorrow it'll be back to cleaning the shed to find a tool I misplaced so I can finish a project on the F-100.

:dntknw: I think the snowman looks better. ;missingteeth;

Well it's a damn good thing I don't seek your approval for a single thing I do. First I talk to much... now I'm ugly.

Only one thing left to do....

We’re all good now. It was a miserable few days but we recovered pretty quickly once we started down that path. I do think the tamiflu helped us. Last time I had the flu I was out of commission for a week, though it could have been a different strain.

Let’s keep it civil folks…

Geeze, where’s a moderator when you need one anyway? :icon_twisted::icon_rofl:

This morning there was a dead fox, hit by a car, in front of our driveway. I’m guessing it was checking out the bawling cat sounds last night and apparently didn’t look both ways.

Our shed cat got fixed today. I thought she would be really skittish after all that but she is all about the pets and scratches, like nothing ever happened. We put her in a large dog crate with a litter box and stuff to recover in relative safety

My old Craftsman tractor has chains on the turf tires. There’s something wrong with the drive belt system and now something wrong with the wiring. Was like that when I got it and I just haven’t had time to dig into it. Think it’s a GT-16 if I remember correctly.

My moderately old Craftsman has turfs and it kinda sucks. I have chains but never put them on. The one axle shaft is bent so it’s a wobbly ride (my screw up resulted in it, but it’s worked for years on the bent axle, so, maybe someday it gets fixed).

My Craftsman GT I bought AG tires for, used to be a code you could give a Sears store to order them, was sold as a set, two AG tires on rims. I think it was like $145 for the set back in the day. 23” tall tires on 12” 4 bolt rims. I promptly put 5-6 gallons of RV antifreeze in each tire and bolted 55# wheel weights on. It’s a tank.

Dad’s one lawn tractor I put some quad tires on, put tubes in with 4 gallons of RV antifreeze, he loves it.

My 1950 Ferguson TO-20 farm tractor has AG tires. I haven’t filled them… yet…

Used the tractor to clear the snow bank at the end of the driveway, also helped the neighbor with his.

Turf tires did ok except I needed a running start to get up the bank into the road. It’s also 4wd with a locking rear.

Stayed inside as it's still snowing here. Our St. Bernard is loving the snow this year, he is wanting to be out there longer than before.

I got 3 of those things earlier this year. (2 of them are laying on me as I type this.)

I told the story already, so here’s the short version. I voted we get a dog, my wife and daughter “comprised” and now we have 3 cats.

I never had cats. My wife did, I lived with them, but I never had cats. Actually, I gave her the first one, and then I gave her the second one to keep the first one company. When their time ran out, she got two siblings. You can’t have them in the house without falling in love with them, but they were always her cats.

Lincoln is all mine, he saved my life. I had already gotten rid of the wife. When I came out of my injury and my illness, and I couldn’t get moving, my girlfriend and my doctor said “get a dog.“ Long story short, I was looking around, at that time I needed a little dog, because I could barely walk, and even when I went to see Lincoln, I wasn’t sure I was going to do it. At the last minute, the gal from the shelter said “if it doesn’t work out, you can bring him back.“ Well, that was my get out of jail free card…

Two years later, Lincoln is three years old, and the rest is history. Absolutely the best thing I ever did.

And, @snoranger, I completely agree that one dog is worth three cats…
