has to do with road use fuel taxes, off road farm trucks don't pay all the taxes.

I did my brakes all the way around, back early in 2023. Everything looked good and was functioning, so I turned the rotors, installed new front pads, turned the drums, and installed new rear shoes. I've noticed my rear brakes won't stay adjusted, even though I cleaned and lubed the adjusters, and they're easy to adjust. I also noticed my right (passenger) front tire is covered in brake dust just days after washing the truck. Jacked up the truck and tried to spin the wheel. The caliper is dragging. I don't know if it's a caliper issue or a bad rubber line. Back in 2010 I replaced everything with rebuilt parts and installed all new hoses. Essentially, I rebuilt the brake system excluding the master cylinder, brake booster, and ABS module. I guess it's time to have another round of brake building. I only have around 5000 miles on the new pads and shoes. Hopefully I won't have to touch them or the drums and rotors. New calipers and lines up front and hopefully a little cleaning on the rear with set the auto adjusters right. I may have to side line the Ranger, if me and a fellow can make a deal on his '06 F150 FX4. I'm not a Ford guy, but damn, if I don't find good deals on them more than Chevys.
I don't know if it's different on some trucks, but mine can only go one way for the little pawl to push the adjuster down to tighten it. If it's installed the other way, the paw doesn't touch the notched wheel. On the rear adjusters, double check that that adjustment spindle isn’t installed backwards, which is easy to do. Instead of clicking a hair tighter when the time comes, regular vibration can actually cause them to spin the other way if they’re installed backwards. Just a thought.
Went to the Shoney’s shack tire guy and put a couple of my good tires on a couple of those rims I picked up yesterday. I figured out a couple more salvage yards I could try for that 15 inch steelie.
I drive down a foggy road, picked up some new wheels, and cleaned my shop in prep to installed new OffRoad Design greasable Kevlar leaf spring bushings tomorrow.View attachment 104195
Nice! That style would be on my short list if I were going to go back to 15s.
Took me forever to find a style I liked used. I’m excited to air down the 33x15s vs my current 32x17s. Should give me more cushion for the pushing off-road.
You've mentioned this Shoney's tire guy a few times now. Not many Shoney's left, so you wouldn't happen to be taking about the one if Forsyth would you? Need to play some musical tires before long and the prices I've been quoted locally might make the drive to Forsyth worth it.
Also, have you got a photo of the 15" wheel you're looking for? I'll keep my eyes open and see if I can spot one for you around here.
