Why did you choose 7 by 15, extra firewood ?

Alot of the size came into play with what level space was behind the garage, and after looking at a smaller sized coop (for 4 grand) I thought it would be awesome to have a partioned space for feed & supplies. So that effectively makes the animal area smaller. Wanted the chickens to have plenty of room, and down the road if I stop with the poultry it will be a nice sized utility shed. At some point want to add a lean-to style shelter on the side of the garage for the tractors. Its rather crowded in the garage right now, since getting the newest mower the only vehicle in the garage now is the escape. I considered building a chicken coop on my old tandem 7x10 flatbed but I think the building is a better plan.

Good future proofing. I built my coop out of scraps I had laying around or got from work, saved money that way. It's only really good as a coop/ duck house, so when I'm done with the birds it'll just rot.

Had the opportunity to purchase an old chicken coop. Then I learned it was haunted. Really don't want to deal with a Poultry-geist

First time Ive been able to get a picture of all the chickens at once, the older birds are up top while the new ones are down below. The older birds are just over a year old now while my new ones are just over 2 months. The bantam is hard to see, she is behind the bigger birds on the left side.

Well, I took some gas down and splashed a bit in the Ferguson and after a couple tries it fired up and ran, but it ran at full pelt with zero throttle control right up until it tossed my battery off the tray. Have to repair the negative battery cable and I’ll have to secure the battery now, but I’m also going to have to figure out why the throttle is all hooked up but doesn’t control engine speed at all.

Years ago dad rebuilt a carb for an 8N for a guy. Guy took it home and complained up and down how terrible it ran and he couldn't control the RPM at all.

He had the throttle hooked to the choke and the choke hooked to the throttle.

Another one of my Bantams went missing. She was broody, and would lay her eggs under the wood shed, she had been spending the night under there for a few days, but I haven't seen here come out for food since Wednesday.

Bummer, she was my favorite one. Real friendly.

I tilled another bunch of leaves into my garden about two weeks ago. I'm going to get 6or 8 more bags of manure compost and til that in this weekend.

The wife just loves those baby fingerling potatoes and ordered a few 10 gallon potato grow bags. I'm hoping to fill a few of those bags with a mix of my garden soil and Happy Frog potting soil. Even if I use last years grow bag Happy Frog spoils. I guess we'll see how it goes.

I know potatoes are typically cheap so haven't grown them in years. But I remember home grown potatoes having just better flavor and even a better texture. So I'm going to try...

Pretty sure I have it right, but I’ll double check things.

Got the plywood on yesterday, doing more drafting on my walls so I know what my next purchase of materials will be. Seems like anything I build gets revised as I go until its done. Thinking of making the nesting boxes accessible from inside the supply area, going with sliding style doors instead of a conventional swing door. Right now its merely a deck. More to come!

I replanted all the ferns that were popping up in the flower bed up to the hill, hoping it will help keep the hill from washing away since we cleared out all the scraggly brush that was growing up there.
Wife planted some ground cover type plants along with the ferns, then flowers in the flower bed.
