Farm and Garden

You guys are mowing already and our snow just melted about 10 days ago. I raked all the downed branches off the lawn, mowing won't happen for a while.

Yep, just did my third cut the other day.

I didn't know anything about them was adjustable, maybe the carburetor. This'll be year 3 on my latest Stihl, I guess it won't be long till I need to learn how

I've had the string trimmer for a good number of years. I imagine the shredder/vacuum and the chainsaw will follow along soon enough. Very easy to do.

Cool video SGT, thanks

I bought one around 98ish, can't remember the number tho, I think it was a bit stronger than the one I have now

I don't trust him. He totally forgot about the beer.

Getting wood chips from the city dump. Going to put down cardboard and cover that with chips.

Pulling my Harbor Freight special. Need to replace the trailer sides with some fiberboard siding.

Nice looking truck man :)

Where do those wood chips come from? City tree limb clean-up maybe?

There's more flat terrain in that picture than in the whole state of NH.
Nice clean looking truck for it's age. Those are the wheels I wanted for my truck but all I found that year at Carlisle were 94-5 Mustang wheels.

I got mine off a 96 Explorer, not that I really wanted that type, they just came with the vehicle and recently swapped some over to put the best treads on my truck :D

Yes, it's where the city takes it's tree stuff. It's also where residents take yard clippings for compost. Wood "chips" is optimistic. More like "sheds". Thought of offering to sharpen their chippers blades.

I wonder if Ford had different paint set ups for the body parts. The top of the cab and hood are all faded and oxidized. The doors are kind of faded. The clearcoat is coming off the top rails of the bed, but where it isn't the paint looks good, like the sides of the bed and fenders, where the top of them are fine also.

But the body is rust free as far as I can see. The odometer says 26K on the 99K dial. The man I bought it from inherited it and didn't know if it was 200K or not. But with the shape it is in, I'm pretty sure it's just over 100K, although I could tell when overhauling the rear brakes that they had been worked over before, unless Ford was using Bendix brake parts.:D

Loading that trailer with dirt is the most strain I put on it.

It looks worth a paint job to me, but then you'll want to be more careful with it. Oxidation and peeling tell me it hasn't been waxed often enough. My Mustang was painted during the winter of 98-99 and still looks close to perfect, but being black, it takes a lot to keep it that way, I dry it with a towel after washing it and wax it frequently. The paint on my truck looks OK as long as you don't get too close and I drive it in the rain without worrying.

Nice looking vehicles.

I've only had this truck for two years. If I had the resources I would monstaliner it. Although I've heard that starts fading after a few years. But I like the look of it. Maybe a spray wax would prevent that?

You guys have all this super manly equipment and tractors. Here is the other end of the spectrum. I resurrected an old Ryobi 4-cycle power head today. It had seen sitting non-op in one my sheds for over 25 years. Needless to say the carb and fuel lines were fubarred beyond saving so I bought a new carb, filters, hoses, and plug on Amazon for $17 with free overnight deliver. It has a small narrow rototiller that snaps on for our raised beds and it will save these 75 year bones of mine from great pain. It started on the 1st pull after making a few mods and fresh gas. Little victories are all I can muster anymore.

You have me beat. I'm still in the shovel, hoe, pitching fork, and garden rake phase.
