What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

Well, the engine is sort of in the Ranger. It’s on the motor mounts, but I have to lift the motor up some and try to get the motor mount nuts run down some. Not sure if the header is gonna have to come off for that to happen or not. Blew past my limit of what I can handle doing because the motor couldn’t sit halfway in and halfway out. Fought me the whole way to where it’s at and I also blew a big chunk off my middle finger right at the start of things.

No mechanic’s gloves? I never used to wear rubber gloves or work gloves until the last couple years. I still feel like a sissy for it, but I bleed a lot less now lol.

I cut grass part way around one, and put a battery charger on the other. Tomorrow I need to see about getting some plywood and possibly two batteries.

Need plywood to make platforms for my work ramps, got nothing but dirt as a work surface and the ramps I've got will sink right in. The 85 is close enough to the ground that I'm going to need ramps if I'm to have any hope of getting under it.

The 85 needs a battery because it didn't come with one, I've been using a battery borrowed from the 68 F-100 and I want/need to return it to that truck. Battery charger went straight into desulfation mode when I hooked it up on the 99, so it might need a battery too. Guess I should have expected that since I haven't touched that truck in over a year. Now that the weather has started cooling off I need to see about getting it cleaned up and running to pop a for sale sign in the window.

I can't beat this, but I did have the antifreeze swapped out today.
The mechanic was impressed with how clean the engine is.
Oh snap. Mine is still covered in mud from my last exploration adventure. Poor thing has been dirty for almost 2 weeks now. Hopefully I can find time to clean it up. I need some more cleaning supplies and have been too lazy or just dread a trip to Walmart to get it.

If Polaris was giving away free machines, I’d probably choose to pay MSRP on a Yamaha instead.
Yeah since my short time riding trails like 2 years now. I've seen 4 Polaris burnt to a crisp on the trails. Is their gas tank close to the exhaust or something?

I got prices on a XLT 302a Tremor and a Lariat 500a Tremor.
I’ll probably get the Lariat as it’s only $1500 more.
Man they were like 5k more for a lariat compared to xlt when I bought mine. I wanted the 502A package but didn't want leather seats.

Yes it does.
Man you'll hate that suspension. You should just take ut off and ship it to me hahahaha. For real I've heard great things about the fox 2.0 that come on them.

Mechanics gloves. Ratchet slipped tightening one of the front axle bolts and I smacked it pretty hard, pulled the glove off and went well f*** me. Doused it in peroxide and wrapped a band-aid on it since it was leaking and I needed to step away before I smashed something because I had already thrown the ratchet. Peroxide didn’t hurt then but it hurt when I replaced the bandage when I was done. Should have taken a pic, peeled a chunk of skin probably at least 3/8” in diameter if not larger right next to the nail…

I’ve got all 4 shocks out of a first gen Raptor sitting in the garage, if that will help you.

Owwwwwwwwwwwww!

Took the 2011 in a trip to Search and Rescue Training. Took the scenic route back home, which added an hour to the drive. It made for a nice return trip.

Owwwwwwwwwwwww!
Indeed, I’ve already managed to forget about it and get it smashed in a bad handshake and I’ve managed to whack it off things a couple times to boot.
