What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

My dealer started taking orders last week also

The occasional late 80’s/early ‘90’s F150 reg cabs I see ince in a while for sale ate becoming more tempting, last one was a 89 with a 300/auto with 115K for $1500. Really would like a V8 even if I dont need one. The maverick just seems impossible right now.

One of our customers today sold his 87ish reg cab 4 speed 351 4x4 f150 that had f250 axles under it to some kid while we were there for 7k. Idk how many miles were on it but it was extremely clean for a maine truck.

My wheel adapters/spacers came today, theres not much difference between the 4-1/2” and 100mm bolt patterns, The 1” thickness seems to be close enough to make up for the positive offset of the hhr original steel wheels. Im sure it wont look right, but its only for winter, and was cheaper than buying new 16” white spokes to put the nearly new winter tires over on to.

I want an AWD Maverick... hybrid FWD is useless to me.

I am thinking that if interest rates keep going up, vehicle prices will come down or at least level off. I'm sure not going to take out a 7% loan on a car, even 3-4% (which I would probably be stuck with right now) seems high. Kinda at the point where I think I'm better off waiting a year or two and paying cash for a lightly used truck.

Frustrating part is that my '88 daily driver is being quite unreliable lately, my other choice is a gas hog V10 super duty... everything else has historic plates so I can't drive them every day.
The housing market is cooling, so I suspect prices of used vehicles will as well. Might as well wait if you can. We are heading into a recession, whether anyone wants to admit it or not.

Paid about $12K for my clean 2011 Ranger last year. Carvana wanted $20K+ for similar examples. There are reports that company is having financial trouble as the used-vehicle market cools. Imagine that.

I ordered it today:
‘23 Ranger Lariat Tremor 500a
Velocity blue
Technology package
Trailer tow package
Securicode keypad
Spray in bed liner

I looked at the Ranger and talked about it some today, lol. Was going to try and finish getting it read for the engine but it kept on and off rain so I replaced the bad GFI on the front porch (never seen this happen before, it tests and resets fine but no juice out the front), put air in the tires on the F-150 then mom’s Explorer and dad’s Ranger since I had the compressor out.

Yesterday I stop at a tire shop and had all 4 tires balanced since I was getting a hop between 40-45 MPH and it would go away at 50 mph. Came home form the GF's house today and no hopping. Problem solved.
