What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

Snagged a middle seat belt for it for around the farm.

Not sure there is much of a window anymore where a kid can legally ride on the middle of a Ranger and actually be small enough to actually do so... it will be nice to have though.

I’ve considered just removing my middle seat belt. Having a stick shift makes the middle seat all but unusable. Murphy’s Law says as soon as I pull it, it will be needed.

At the shop with the 2011 so I can pay someone to verify my truck is safe and not spewing anymore emissions than it should. At this time, I would like to state what a privilege and honor it is to pay annual tribute to the fine Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Fiddled with matching up the body lines and also adjusted the door latch strikers. Popped my driver side mirror out and rotated the pegs so the glass won’t fall down anymore as well.

Really do like your ranger, have watched your build over time. Still reminds me of how mine would look if I went that route.
Thank you.

Rolled over 280,000 miles... Drove it down to the self-service car wash and knocked the bugs and mud off of it... beats standing out in the sun washing it. Changed the oil as I do every 10k miles. Have an appointment tomorrow over at Discount Tire for rotate & balance

Making room to park the ranger inside as it’s been sitting a lot lately; with the F-150 and the GT500 it pretty much gets driven to Lowe’s and the dump... I’m planning on purchasing a Ford Motorsports crate engine for it and starting the swap around the first of the year.

Drove the '97 to work, 1/3 of the way here the CEL came on, pulled the code and it says it's running lean but drives fine, gas mileage has gone down a touch and at like 175K on it probably time for an oxygen sensor... so I guess I'll go change that in a couple minutes...

I ended up getting it changed at lunch today... Somehow the stupid thing came out with an open ended wrench? It had an F7 Motorcraft marking so it was original... The connector location kinda sucks being behind the valve cover with the tiny lock tab pointed back so I had to contort and get my left arm jammed back there, right wouldn't get my finger by the tab... Apparently the valve cover gasket seeps a little, it was kinda gross back there... The CEL is still on, haven't cleared the code yet...

Investigated mystery clunk in bronco....

The belt squeek on the ranger...makes me crazy

If you're tempted, no, don't bother with those "belt dressings" that are supposed to stop the squeak. Make sure everything is aligned, the tensioner is working properly, and the pulley bearings are good, then just replace the belt and be done with it.

A lot of quick fixes don't. Don't bother with radiator or engine oil stop-leak products for the same reason. Ask me how I know.

It is an odd one.

I use black line chalk to stop it...

The pulleys are perfect....the entire f.e.a.d. is fresh. I suspect it is a surge in the hydroboost from some trash in a port and the power steering pump shifts psi.

Stop leak I have to use....that radiator is a 1995 with all kinds of trail repair.

Someday....I will put the new one in from e Bay....but it is a lower quality then that old Harrison for sure.

Fluid Filmed my tailgate and inside the door panels. Found a big rust hole at the DS seat belt anchor. Cutting/bending steel to fit.

Got my new vynil floor in, was a pain but the end result is nice, can’t believe the difference in road noise now, its almost like I fixed the exhaust system. lol. Hated to put all my junk back in the cab, its not been that cleaned out in a long time. Need to get a console someday. Put the cap back on also, thought about mounting the bedrails to the top of it but not sure I want to do that, It would solve the issue of where to store them and be able to easily find them again when I want to.

I've been told heat is your friend when installing these floors. The dog days of summer is the best and most miserable time to do it. This time of year is a bit late in the game.

How bad was locating the holes for all the stuff that needs to poke through? I imagine the best approach is to crawl under the truck after getting the vinyl flat and use a scribe to poke the starter holes.

Might even be able to lay the old carpet/vinyl over the top of the new vinyl for the bigger holes. I'd love a vinyl floor but that's pretty much a death sentence for floor pans around here.
