What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

Went to pick up my lifter the were deliverd to oreillys today, I orderd 12 melling lifters, and when I went to get them, they couldn't find them. Turned out even being paid for they tried to pull them back to fulfill another order. Thankfully they were still there, but turns out they sent 4 from sealed power, and when I looked at them they were all scratched, covered in burned oil, and the rollers were seized. Supposedly they can get me 4 more melling brand. fingers crossed

What a sad state of affairs they got going on at O'Reilly's these days...

Sadly... it probably isn't much better anywhere else.

Pictures?

As requested.

I took a mental health day today lol😉. Used her to make a dump run we bought a new bed, so said sianara to the old one. Than I droped the 4.0 block at the machine shop, been cleaning some parts. I might have cleaned the oil pan too well, what do you think.

Red paint is always good for 6 or 8 horsepower...

What am I missing I don't quite get the sarcasm
I think he got mixed up and thought the oil pan had something to do with the D35 drain plug conversation, forgetting that this is the "what did you do to your Ranger today" thread.

Aww ok ya I thought that might have been it. I agree no drain on the d28/35 is so irritating. I'm gonna need one of you to come put a drain in mine😁

Just try to not put it in a location that is likely to hit a rock. An internal wrenching plug would be even better if you preplan correctly. My local hardware store only had the traditional external square drive. So I took steps to protect it.

I also went with a smaller plug to minimize potential stress on the aluminum housing.

Hey I posted a question in the 4.0 thread. Just trying to get some extra attention to it would like some professional advise. I know I came to the wrong place 🤣

On that D35 drain plug, while mine was out I drilled from inside to the lowest bolt hole in the mounting pattern. No plug, just pull that bolt and drain. Slowly.

Too late now! :p

Were you able to fix that shock mount yet?
