'85 Ranger Restomod

I gave you a lot of crap last week... I was starting to wonder if it was it was you? :fie:

I would never harm an innocent truck with my sorcery!

Well the '150 is back on the road so as a reward for two weeks of stalwart service I gave the Ranger a bath.

Man I wish I had time to get the body done, it just looks so close when it is clean...

Kid is enamored with the truck now, he keeps trying to get in it and once in it he goes and gets in his car seat wanting to go for a ride. No idea what is so intriguing. It was also funny at daycare all the little kids would gawk at it, probably because they don't often see trucks driving around with giant smiley faces on the front more than anything.

I have a show and shine coming up next Thursday I am going to try to make (I have a tractor thing Saturday and Sunday I am in charge of that will compete for time and takes priority) and another show the weekend after so I can kinda double dip for one cleaning.

Truck is all waxed and clean, granted the fender badge fell off but you can't win everything. I need to snag tape for that...

Even scrubbed the spare tire:

Engine was lightly cleaned for the first time since 2019:

And the show was cancelled. Weather Underground was saying 1.7" today with a chance of golfball sized hail all day up until the time the city had to make the call... nobody is going to go to a car show with talk like that. By 3:30 they had backed it down to .29". By the time the show should have started they had pretty much nixed it. Got clipped by a cell after the show would have been done that didn't amount to anything.

So now the truck is grounded until the next show in two weeks...

That truck is so clean, the bottom of the hood has a mirror finish. Nice work. Too bad the show got cancelled.

Didn't win a door prize but had a good time at the show:

And I did think this was funny:

Thanks!

I can't wait until I get it to look as good in real life as it does in a picture...
Ain't that always how it is ! I need to make mine look good in a picture, not enough hours in the day though. Best of luck with your truck !

Don't feel bad I've seen plenty of cars/trucks that were featured in magazines and then saw them in person at car shows and just cringed...

Yay my new evaporator showed up!

:annoyed:

Did you run it over before taking the picture?

It sure does looked "tweaked". I don't know if I'd go through the trouble of trying to put that in and then see if it'll hold pressure.

Removed it from a perfect box.

Can you keep the box and just return the evaporator?

Yeah, not worth the effort. It is so twisted up I doubt it would even fit in the housing anyway. I about guarantee that crack will leak too.
