What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

Got it back running. A walbro 255lph fuel pump overnight from summit was less then the el cheap sender from Napa. Dropped right in and fired right up.

My egr extension was broke, the replacement from ModdBox is going to take a week coming from Canadia, so I made a temporary egr delete.

Was able to cap the egr tube with a penny set inside the jam but from the extension tube.

Mine broke a while back, but I was able to weld it back together. It broke right at the connection to the EGR valve. Had it not been easy, I'd have deleted the valve and got custom tuning, which I'm probably going to do eventually anyway.

Anyone know the thread size for the oil pressure sending unit/switch on the 4.0 SOHC? I want to put a real gauge on it and would like to have the fittings ready when I find the time and gumption to tackle it. That sensor is not in a good place.

I didn't want to mess around and try to put a T in there to add a gauge sending unit. I ended up buying an oil filter sandwich adapter on Amazon from a company called GlowShift. The adapter works well and I would do it again.

Cleaned the interior of the 2011. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be this year.

I was in Cordova Alaska for most of a week (Thursday morning to Tuesday night) on a short notice work trip working on fishing boat engines...

Anywho, walking around the shop I was working with, I noticed a passenger side D35 TTB beam... looked a little closer and saw the ABS sensor, a little closer and saw it was dual piston caliper! After I got the work work done and the engines palleted back up that were going back home I threw the beam (they couldn't find the other, already scrapped) on the bench and stripped the outer knuckle and shaft from the beam, strapped that on one of the pallets heading home :).

So in a few days I'll have half a twin piston caliper swap for my '90! along with a spare half set of manual hub locknuts and a good axle shaft that just needs a U joint...

Story was they blew the center U joint and couldn't find a replacement shaft so they changed the whole axle from one at a junkyard...

Wouldn't happen to have a link would you? Not sure if that's the route I want to go, but it's definitely an option. I have to believe that setup is only giving you the pressure at the pump, which maybe good enough. The stock location is downline and, I would think, give a more accurate representation of the pressure throughout the engine.

Just Google glowshift, they have their own site too. I like their gauges. Have them in 3 vehicles

Yes, I have done just that, but I have no idea which thread size/pitch I need for the Ranger and I couldn't find a way to get their website to tell me. I figured if @Uncle Gump had a link to what he knew worked it might save me some time. I am familiar with Glowshift as well, and have seen mixed results with their gauges. That was mostly a few years back, so they may have upped their game a bit.

Amazon says all three of these fit. I have my doubts.

Oil pressure is a constant from the filter through the main galley.

I'm not a big fan of their gauges... I have two. They work but I would not swear to the accuracy. They also tend to switch colors at start up often... no real rhyme or reason to it.

When I bought mine Amazon put me right on the part I needed... I just looked and it didn't do it this this. I will check my history and see what one I bought.

The adaptor IMHO is a really nice piece... no concern recommending it's use.

EDIT... I probably would not recommend their gauges.

@G8orFord It's the 22mmx1.5...

That is for the 4.0L SOHC
