Busy night here. Put a new starter in the ā96 Powerstroke. It was suspect, I think I overworked it when I cleaned the gas out from my friends thank-you fill up. It was the original, 121k now. Turn the key and it pops now. Only took 45 minutes.
Then I worked through the punch list on the 87 4wd: put one of those spring looking things from the shed of miracles in the custom-cut lower radiator hose to spread out a kink; final tightened the brake bleeders; topped all the fluids, now all on the inside, no leaks; put the old spare in the bed with a lug wrench and jack, but figured out what Iāll put underneath for a spare from the tire and wheel pile and put a 3/4ā spare wrench in to let it loose with the 2ā receiver blocking it; tightened down the $100 cap, lubed the locks and locked it all up; greased the single grease point on the pitman arm (only one??); and, then I got in and turned the key, and, AND !! ::
How ābout that under hood light!!
I ran it for thirty minutes, no leaks, heat inside, all the options except a/c (missing compressor) working perfect!
I was going to drop it off the jack stands and do the test drive, but the trailer I bought as the core of Rickās Ranger Rig was blocking a wheel and it was already after midnight. Sooo, after lawyers tomorrow (my favorite pass time), Iāll drop it, check tire pressure and cap the valve stems, torque the lug nuts, and drive it over to the Redhead for dinner!
Iām so excited, Iām like a child at Christmas!! I canāt wait!!!
(But I already know the ādrive it over to the āRedheadā isnāt the wisest move...)
