I bought a 96 2wd Ranger a little while ago. I only push the pedal down about 2-3" total stroke for clutch engagement and disengagement. The previous owner gave me a song and dance that "it's always been like this". I still need to figure out if I need a new clutch pack or not. It shifts, drives, etc nicely once you get used to a very short length of throw on the pedal. I am just concerned that I only have a couple inches of pedal at the top, if this is in fact normal I'd sure like to know. If this is a symptom of "stop driving and get it into a Ford clutch witch-doctor fast", I need that answer too. If you have any insight, please educate me. Thank you in advance.
