Coronavirus

This virus is going to make the dumbasses of the world stand out.

The 24-hour laundry room where I live has been restricted to 7am-9pm. I asked why, and they told me it's due to the Coronavirus, like I was a dumbass for asking. I pointed out that they're forcing people to be in there at the same time due to the limited hours. They said it will probably close completely. Fricken dumbasses. I would think a laundromat would fall under an essential business. There isn't any employees in there. Just (4) washers and (4) dryers. Am I suppose to wash my clothes in the sink??
Last i knew they were essential

Yea it'll never happen. Im not spending that kinda money but my dream home would be well water, solar power, septic system, and wood/propane heat. No government lines of any kind touching my property.

Not that I use it but the laundry mat in town here has been closed completely for 2 weeks. I dunno what people with apartments or homes with no washing machines are doing.

My washing machine broke a few years ago and I was too cheap to get another one for a while. I washed my clothes in the shower... i just threw them in, let them soak, then took a shower and stomped around on them.

This might be the reason...they need to have someone go in and disinfect it, wipe down all of the areas where the little booger factories that live in your apartment complex like to touch and lick, and likely only the hours of 7 to 9 work for their employees.

I would agree that a laundromat would or at least *should* be essential. soap and water kill the virus, and clean clothes helps to that end.

go get a scrub board.... sounds like that might be your option if they close it down

I have a bunch of washboards out back you can have lol. I use to use them to clean my work clothes and rags outside so they didn't get my washing machine nasty.

Amazon sells mini washers. Like. Smaller than a dishwasher.

EDIT: NVM, looks like everyone else had the same idea, most are sold out.

I'd post a photo, but can't on this thread ?

Somebody needs to find a girlfriend until this gets over with so he has access to a washer and drier... :secret:

AZ Gov/School super just announced, school closed for the year!!!!

Well so far the statistics show
Regular flu spread is 1 person spreads it to 1.3 other people
Corona is 1 person spreads it to 2.5 people, so about twice as infectious

Regular flu kills .1% of those infected
Corona kills 3.5% depending on medical services available, so 35 TIMES more deadly with no medical services, but still 2% with medical services

Yes in a health person symptoms are mild, but that's a BIG problem. someone doesn't feel that sick, so the spread rate goes even HIGHER

This "bug" is reproducing faster BEFORE showing symptoms in the host(us), an evolutionary advantage before killing the host

We now have a Government ordered--STAY AT HOME --- Takes effect 5PM tomorrow!!

Well it just got real for us... mind you both my wife and I have been working from home because I am in IT and she is in accounting, don't need us at the office to do that crap... but my wife's coworker who works in the lab that my wife is an accountant for emailed her this afternoon, she is covid19 positive. she is not symptomatic, and thankfully it has been a few weeks since my wife last saw her in person.

ugh...

Somebody has a daughter 30 minutes away that would let him use her washer and dryer. ;)

I have regular sewer line. My toilet can flush a bobcat! I wish I had septic though, I'm tired of paying sewage fees.
My septic system cost $8000 in 1988. It's built entirely above grade because of poor soil for drainage. The leach field grid is 15' x 55', with 10' of stone around that, 10' of sand around the stone, clay and topsoil around the sand. Granite ledge doesn't perk test well.
