Coronavirus

Empire State Building. The red and white represents the light from an ambulance, and the red lights below it symbolize a heart beat.

The CDC may come out with a recommendation that everyone wear a "face covering" (they didn't use the word face mask cause none are available)
Now all the TP hoarders will have a use for their excess paper....

Cool idea, but did it have to look like the eye of Sauron?

3 weeks ago the boss came out with this statement,
March 8 th.....
"We have a perfectly coordinated and fine tuned plan at the White House for our attack on the Coronavirus".
This past week many hospitals were loading and storing the dead in refrigerated trailers cause the morgues were filled to capacity.
They were using forklifts to load the bodies.
A "fine tuned plan".

Apparently the Chinese do not include people with positive virus tests who have no symptoms in the statistics they share with the rest of the world, how high is the real total.
There's a Chinese biological(weapons?) lab in Wuhan where the virus started but that's a coincidence.
They seem trustworthy, let's buy some more of their products.

The bio weapon theory is long gone except in conspiracy theory circles.

Locally it has been horridly handled at the hospital level.

The one case in my county was an internal medicine nurse and she wasn't allowed to self quarantine after going to Cancun by her superiors until she showed symptoms. 5 days later and we are still sitting at 1 case so she must have done well at isolating herself at work.

Unless you convince them you have the plague the only way to see anyone is if you go into the ER. The staff is working around the clock... at nothing because we only have one case and she is self isolating at home.

Genome was sequenced, no markers that show evidence of human alteration.

Looks like the Chinese brought this upon themselves and the rest of the planet with their absolute bullsh*t Mao era herbal remedies. Virus started in bats, jumped to pangolins thanks to a low species barrier, then to humans due to a low species barrier. Animals were being kept near one another in markets thanks to people wanting their fake cures.

So, yay, peoples belief in absolute f*cking bullsh*t fake f*cking cures have doomed at least 12,000 people so far.

"traditional Chinese medicine" needs to be put out of its misery once and for all.

I heard methanol cures coronavirus. 300 people in Iran drank methanol to save themselves and they are now 100% immune to the virus.

I mean... they aren't alive anymore but they still can't get infected now.

Hua, what do you know, people's stupid beliefs are really thinning the heard...

I see something like that happening in our country, and I'm torn between screaming and crying. It's criminal that this is happening here, and that families are subjected to watching a loved one being handled like a pallet of dirt.
For all of you who don't take this seriously, think about this...and the fact that it could be someone you know, or worse, being loaded into a trailer.

Well China has 18.5% of the human population of the planet and 61% live in urban areas
India has 17.7% of the human population, but only 35% live in urban areas

US is 3rd with 4.25% of the human population and 83% live in urban areas

Humans spread human diseases, I know DUH, so its no surprise most should come from China, I mean Jeeze, 18.5% of all humans live there and 61% in close quarters, its almost a given that any "new" disease should come from there

Its a surprise that India doesn't have more issues but the lower 35% urban closeness probably plays a big roll, they also consume way less meat products than China or the US, which is often the crossover for "new" diseases

And the US is especially vulnerable to the spread of any "new" disease because of the 83% urbanization, i.e. New York City

Canada is also vulnerable with 81% urbanization

I guess it depends on your beliefs
Some prefer burning and others are buried in the ground
Same as we do with garbage, burn it or bury it, so its a matter of perception

How the loved one gets to one or the other of these doesn't matter to them at that point, and I am sure some families do pay to have funeral homes do the transfers if contagion is no longer an issue, but it may be and in that case the bodies may need to be transferred to a holding area before the family can have them for their final arrangements.
To have the dead transferred, by forklift, truck, trailer or any means that keeps the remains intact seems fine under the circumstances.

I stood over many a casket while in the service, and many a fallen police officers casket while I was a cop.
I would like to think that someday I will have family and friends looking over my ashes. I'll never know if I'm being handled like a bag of manure, but I can hope for the best.
And, it would be nice if I had a loved on with me when it's my time, and not have some unknown nurse or tech standing over me because my family isn't allowed anywhere near me.
