Hey guys, whats up. My dad gave me his '96 ranger that he bought brand new. It has an SVT badge under XLT, I was wondering if this is a package or a rare trim level? I cant seem to find any replicas anywhere. Nothing is special about the engine I dont think, Same 2.3 auto as any other ranger. I think its a package as he bought the truck with a cool blue exterior and interior that i haven't seen in any other rangers. It also came with a blue bed "tent" that folded down and up like a convertible, Would post a picture of it but it has deteriorated over the years. Let me know what yall think.

Looks like somebody just slapped old SVT badges on a ranger. I've seen hundreds of ranger with that paint scheme I think it's just an xlt ranger. If it was SVT, something would be done to the motor and/or suspension

I thought so, just seems weird as we bought it brand new, maybe the dealer slapped some on lol

I could be wrong.

Lots of dealers pulled things like that. For several years a lot of people thought there was a super rare "Gold Edition" of the Ranger, but it turns out it was just a couple dealers sticking badges on. Dealers are also guilty of using factory Ford decals, to help them sell more trucks. They often stick "FX4" and "Edge" decals on trucks that were never built to those specs at the factory.

GB :)
