My 91 Ranger the stRanger

Thanks guys. Yes the truss has more reinforcements from those pictures. I need to swap sprints to lower the rear 2” from where it’s at. I also need to redo the exhaust to clear the links, do brake lines and spray some paint.

Here is the video of the front end work we did. The 4 link video should be ready next weekend. I ordered some limit straps and sprayed some paint today, I should have the rear end mostly buttoned up soon.

I got my limit straps, brake lines and bump stops all mounted up. I still have to redo the exhaust exit. I also need to change the springs still to drop it down 2 more inches at ride height.
Here are some flex pictures:

Not any major updates, but have done some things.

I changed out the stock master cylinder for a 1991 dodge brake master cylinder, that firmed up my spongy brake pedal great. I also installed a wilwood brake proportioning valve for the rear brakes since they would lock up effortlessly. I have the proportioning valve as restricted as possible (57% pressure reduction) and I can still lock them up, but not as easy. I’ll have to look for a valve that can go beyond the 57% of this wilwood.

Then I swapped the lower coilover springs, now I am 150 over 150. It dropped the ride height down 2”. Still 2” shy of my goal. I have 8” of shaft showing and I want 6”. I might swap in 100 lb uppers.

Here is the video on installing the dodge 2500 master cylinder, adding an adjustable proportioning valve and tuning it! I really like the firmer pedal and brake feel, and it was ridiculously easy to install!

Read through the whole thread, great build, subscribed to your channel as well, I'm about to start filming a channel for outdoor lifestyle in the PNW, mostly the portland/vancouver area and mt hood/hood river.

Do you have a body lift still? and how much do you think the truck weighs now with the full exo and everything?

I’d love it if folks would stop using Photobucket. Every time I want to see the photos that are posted using their site, I get an icon telling me that I have to "unlock my account" by visiting photobucket.com/p500. Once there, the only choice I’m given is to pay for a photo bucket account (minimum $100 a year). I’d really love to see all your sweet rides, but I’m not gonna pay them for the privilege. Thanks, guys.

Sweet, post up a link when you get the channel going, I grew up in Vancouver and miss it!

Yeah I still have a 2” body lift under the cab. I weighed the truck after the exo and it was 4700 lbs. I want to weigh it once I get the front coilovers in and see what kind of difference I get with that.

what size rear brake lines?..??

will do, im looking at picking up a 91 super cab in newberg with a bad tranny and a 4.0 for cheap, i will most likely be showcasing the build on the channel, drawing a lot of inspiration from your thread. the PNW is a hard place to leave. i was in colorado for a while after HS but had to come back, always felt that if i missed colorado i could just drive down to bend. I have heard great things about NM though, cant wait to see what you do next with the ranger.

No progress on the front yet, but I did install a sway bar from TK1 racing. This is the ultra 4 medium bar, 42” long. This was based off a few phone calls with Tony from TK1. I initially wanted to mount it behind the rear axle under the fuel cell, but after trying a few different configurations, I opted to mount forward of the rear axle in between the flat bed and frame rail.

I have about 10 road miles on it so far. The initial impressions it gave me are very good. I haven’t had a sway bar on this for over 8 years, so it’s weird. The engine no longer torques the truck over when I gas it, and it goes through turns very nicely. Body roll has been reduced greatly. I barley tested it offroad yet so I cannot fully comment on that. I haven’t been able to truly test the flex out and see if it limited it.

hey man,

do you happen to have the measurement from the ground to the bottom of your frame from right behind the cab? trying to draw something up for planning
