help 1991 2.3 M5OD huge shavings on drain plug

here is a picture. nickel is to show the size of the shavings . i need to know if this is normal for them. or i should stop driving it and get me a used transmission to throw in it lol

If it was mine, I would stop driving it and get the transmission rebuilt.

So if anyone ever sees this in their transmission it is ok. It ended up being one of the rings from the shifter bearing/ bushing. WHEW. Thought i was screwed for a second hehe.

Glad it's repairable. You definitely didn't want things like that swimming around in there.

yup my '91 had the same pieces come out when I changed the tranny fluid. Make sureyou get the shifter repair kit for it. Comes with all new bushings for the shifter. Its cheap, like $12 from advance auto.
