'85 Ranger Restomod

Iirc it's just the lowers that need the clip. Did em on dad's 97 and only the lower got the clip.

That is kind of what I am thinking.

Could it be that you have a THICK layer of paint getting in the way? I mean it is a machined part...

I don't think so. I have scraped the paint out of the inside of the boss, it isn't that thick in the inside of the knuckle. When the last guy put it together without the snap ring there was no paint on it and there was still no room for it.

Put the BJ's back in, grabbed the super adjustable alignment bushings have had forever and went to put the knuckle on the beam... never thought about it but D28's have different bushings than D35's. Somehow I kind thought they were the same, maybe it was the pre-pinch bolt D35's.

Anyway I need more parts again. :annoyed:

Been bitter cold lately, haven't got much done on it.

I did build up a parts list for what what I need to get coming from Rockauto. Will still get the other two balljoints and calipers locally. I have heard bad things about Moog balljoints lately, the two I have are Raybestos from Carquest, Rockauto doesn't show that brand. Just Moog and a bunch of weird ones, don't want to dink with shipping cores back for calipers. I need to measure my sway bar, I might get that locally since it isn't real easy to get at until I get it out.

So anyway, that is where I am at on it. Still in motion, just really slow.

Same with my truck, gathering parts for the efi swap. Next big parts are gt40p heads.

It is a long, tedious and boring phase of a build. Painful on the wallet too.

Have a set of heads located?

My local JY has explorers there, too cold to go check and pull a set. Also need to look up how to rebuild heads (I'm sure its a straight forward process).

Winter has the best selection because nobody will brave the cold unless they have to. :icon_twisted:

Explorers get hit pretty hard around here, lots with shortblocks when I go there.

Good need is I don't have to lol. There are vehicles that have been there for over 10 years.

Cool, I used to go to a yard like that when I was in college. Basically a bunch of cars sitting in a field. I don't know if it is still there though, never go that way anymore.

27 v8 exploreres....every one was missing the entire front dress and intakes.

:annoyed:

I can get all those all day long.

I think the secret is out, I was going to pickup an intake and various stuff in case I ever get an old Mustang before they go the way of the dodo. Not lookin' good, I might have missed my window. :black_eye:

just got to be quik

Only reason I'm keeping the 93 mustang intake is for the retro look.

just got to be quik

Over an hour away, makes it hard to pop in and check inventory :annoyed:

And I don't know what kind of Mustang I will get, a 65-70 wouldn't have quite the same EGR setup as a 94-95...

I need to look into it sometime and figure out what I need for wiring and crap too.
