Heater/Ac blower speed

Just replaced the rotted out blower motor resister and pig tail Only had high speed, Now Only 3 of the four speeds are working, The slow speed is not working, Tried a new fan switch still nothing. Any ideas on where to go with this..

You mean you replaced the fan switch in the dash? If so, check the connector plug on the firewall resistor and see if the wire has come loose from the connector...it's usually something to do with that plug/resistor...I would have suspected the fan switch in the dash also and replacing that would rule out the dash components.

The connectors can become brittle over time and may not be completing the circuit properly...

Hmmmm...that pretty much covers all that is to be covered...but it sounds like you have a dead spot...typically, when the resistor goes we only get low and high speed fan function...the other two or three speeds are controlled by the extra wires...giving more resistance, obviously since the fan operates slower...so a dead spot would give you nothing.

My best guess is that you did not get the wiring correct when you put in the new pig tail. Look at it this way, you replaced the resistor and pig tail fixing your original problem; but, causing a new one since a new switch didn't change anything...... You are not getting power to the motor on low speed.

I thought the same thing , but I cut each wire and sliced them into the new wiring harness one at a time, I will check the site out,,
