So I know Im way late on this but im planning on building a lifted sas ranger and was looking on duff tuffs website and see they have the whole lift kits now with the 6in lift springs and was wondering if those were the springs you used or are yours bigger? http://www.dufftuff.com/1983_97_4WD_Std_Cab_Ranger_5_6_Stage_3_Suspension_p/5051-3.htm

The kit you linked is their twin traction beam lift kit, not the SAS stuff. I used duffs early bronco 5.5" coils when I did my SAS

James Duff has a great group of people working there. Give them a call and explain to them what you want to do. They will set you up with all the right stuff for an SAS.

Ya my bad I just noticed that after I posted it. Ive been in the turbo honda game for a long time and am just trying to get into building a wheeler. Just trying to learn as much as possible and trying to get an idea of what I need to build a sas ranger, I have a ford 9" rear right now and wanna get a dana 44 front, I live in Ohio so one of my main concerns honeslty is getting an old ranger thats not completely rusted to shit...

Whereabouts in OH?

Back from the dead. Finally got my ass in gear and worked on this thing. Fixed a lot of stupid problems and finally got my front drive shaft made. Had it dyno tuned today. Man was the mail order tune jacked up. It was running shitty, rich and weak. Had it tuned on the dyno and gained 70 hp and runs way better. At 5300 ft elevation it put down 190 hp and 252 tq. The dyno guys estimated 35% parasitic drag, so that puts crank hp around 313. Im ready to wheel now.

How fun has the wheelin' been since the tune?
Unfortunately I still haven't gotten it in the dirt yet. The day after I got it tuned the strongbox shift mechanism came apart internally when I was driving it. So then it sat for a while again until I got it fixed. Everything should be good now, if the strong box gives me any more fits I'm throwing that ****er in the scrap pile.

I have read every page of this build took me bout a week but I loved every page and found alot of info on stuff I'm doing and I have an aod in my truck the TV cable was a pita to deal with and finally got it to shift and boostedjd I'm not far from Akron pm me and we'll get to wheeling when I finish my Axel swap and check out southington offroad park bout 40 min from akron

I have not updated this in a while, but I went wheeling a couple weekends ago. I have some things I need to fix but all in all a good trip still.
