better late than never! sas v8 blah blah blah

Ballistic fab great products but unreliable shipping

still waiting to hear back from rockauto on the warranty for my shafts so that means my truck is still on jack stands in the garage.:annoyed:

but on another note i swapped out the welded carrier in the front for a open one. hoping that will make it easier on the shafts. while i was in there i slapped some new gears in also. the old ones were toast. kinda hard to see but there toast

What brand of shafts were they? What u did you have installed in them?

The first set I broke were the stokers. The second were usa standard. I used a set of u joints I got at napa. The guy convinced me they were just as strong if not stronger than spicers. I now call bs.

well bummer. I wonder if there is a difference between yukon and USA Standard cromos... they should be the same material.

What size tires are you running? maybe I am blind but I didnt see it on my quick run through...

Truck looks sick btw!

im running 37's.

i read somewhere that usa standard parts are yukon's that didnt meet there strict quality standards. they wont affect strength but the gears will be noisy and the shafts are limited to a stock style u joint such as spicers or something like that. i couldnt find much info on this. just a couple of posts on pirate4x4.

thanks

That's pretty much what I heard too. When I got usa standard gears, they had the same booklet with them as a Yukon booklet, so I assume it's probably true. My gears have yet to be noisy though.
On your drivers side, I kinda wonder if it was your u-joint that went and took the shaft with it.

That's what I'm thinking. It pushed a cap out and went down hill from there

got her back up and running today. had stock shafts for the passenger side but had to salvage the cromo shafts for the other side

passenger side. i dont think it will last to long. the weld looks like crap. my welding helmet took a shit. i did it blind.

i got my clevis mounts welded on before my helmet crapped out.

I'm totally going to steel your winch location idea. Thanks!

i did have to loose my a/c condenser to get it back far enough to not cut the grille. my f250 has a/c so my trail rig doesnt need it.

going to fordyce this weekend. i should have some more pics and more carnage.

So jealous! I should come back this weekend and go with....
Going with your brother?
