Yea I hope you did, engineers are a hot commodity including one that can deal with union.. trust me I know.. I get along better with them than my own engineering kind.. haha.
Im in design engineering right now... its boring AF in a nuclear plant.. just a heads up
I agree with this completely. Most fellow engineers I get to work with have a very difficult time accessing the restricted area of the brain known as the "FUN" part.....

HAHA. I am engineer. I like to stay in my little box and work alone. Not used to this.
But yes, I was looking at a $7k raise. Now I am looking at 12k plus another week of vacation...
That's impressive... How did it affect your commute? You should've tried for a company car and a gas card
HAHA, yeah, not gonna lie, I do get along with the union guys better than the other engineers. My redneck/car side of me helps in that department. I just struggle with their work ethic. I am currently in the steel industry. Due dates are CRITICAL.
I told them I was a hands on guy and wont be able to work on a PC, 8+ hrs a day, over and over. I do like computers, but not that much. With the new job, I will be traveling around the lower 48, 3-5 days a month. The younger engineers say it works out well. Its a break that comes in at just the right time. We shall see.

Agreed. I hope the traveling works out well, I was told something like that and spent close to 3 months away from home last year... but that's just the nature of the work. We have to do what we have to do to bring home the bacon
