Looks like a decent start for a project. I'm not sure about the terra flex shackles up front though. I would think that would cause the axle to want to drop down every time you want to climb up an obstacle.

I agree. The front axle will be pushed forward about 4" and linked :D

Better Pics. I will have to start a new thread.

Onebadex, how do you feel about low pinion front axles? This yoke isnt as low as expected, but I am worried about it...

Found an ARB snorkel buried in the tub lol

Pulled the cage out. I wont be using it. Pulled the tub off too.

Comes with a hydro assist steering setup

Solid tub

Rear steel corners. There were a surprise too.

Some other junk that came with it

Low pinions aren't too bad. If you are going to link it you can rotate it up some to gain some angle back. The only real other problem is when they drop they really like to bind up the front yoke/shaft. If you go with a 1410 it gives you double the operating angle as a stock size plus its a lot stronger. You can find a 1410 d60 yoke cheap like under $40. If you do links I'd run the link bars at the same angle as the front shaft so that the bar will kinda act like a skid and protect it from all the rocks that a low pinion has a tendency to plow into on the trails. If you really wanted to get crazy buy a high pinion center chunk and pull out your tubes and make a high pinion pass side axle.

After looking at it better, it think the LP will work since I do plan on linking it.

$900 for my old axles if anyone is interested. D44/8.8 5.13s Locked/Welded.

Hey all. Been pretty busy with work and stuff. The new job is going well. My wife also picked up a much better paying job.

This Jeep is going to be a hell of a project. I am going to need a lot of big money tools before I even start it. I need a nice 220 welder, a bender and a notcher before I get started. I dont want to borrow those items this time. I would also like a 2 post. With our new situation, I should be able to start investing in that stuff.

SO. since my axles have not sold, I am tossing around the idea of building another RBV while I collect tools for the Jeep.

I am going to start looking for cheap ($1000-1200) Reg cab 4.0s. 2wd or 4wd since I have a BW1350 and a BW1354E sitting here.

Keeping my fingers crossed

Good to hear all is well. I love the need for a project to fill the gap in building a project :icon_cheers:

Anyway, I am sure another RBV would be a piece of cake for you :icon_thumby: What kind of welder and bender are you looking at?

I know a guy with a lift for sale..:icon_thumby:

Go figure, now I have serious interest in them lol

This is the welder that I like. My buddy has the same one.

As for a bender, not sure. I would like a powered one. A buddy just picked up a really nice JD2 and a BA notcher. He said I can borrow it on a long term basis. So that might be covered.

I am going between your 2 post and those 40" boggers down the road....

On a side note. I dont think I ever posted this

RATED R

I think the claw did less damage to that cab than your last trail ride did.

40" boggers will be nice for the jeep project.
