Unbelievable Ecoboost story from f150 forum....must read

I have friends who have bought and the got rid of their crap new F150 trucks with this motor. So far none of my friends have liked the motor. They have had issues with overheating, valves going out and leaks and tranny issues. My dad's Raptor has had a lot of repair time at Ford and he has a V8 that has lost a cam shaft/motor leaks and 2 trans have been replaced and all this happened under 25,000 miles. He tows his 18 ft flats boat twice a week to go fishing. I for one will never buy another new Ford.

87 XLT, I was interested in reading his posts, but then I saw it had 60 pages of it.

Give the just of Engine 3 & 4, and what was done about the customer service.

My wife has a 2012 ecoboost with 40,000 miles on it. The engine has given us ZERO problems. We have both noticed an issue with the tranny. But she had got the extended warranty she bought it. So no worries. I'm very impressed with it.

My work truck has the new 5.0 in it, and I'm very impressed with it also. I average 16 mpg and it stays running almost 9 hours a day.

I would recommend either truck to anybody.

LOL, DG!!! I really do like your old truck and the way up updated it. My dad's 2011 Raptor is not a great truck. I used it three times last month and the third day I drove it it stopped in the middle of the the xpressway. 2 cats, 1 baby goat and my cockatiel were not happy in the back seats. I am glad I have AAA and they came right away. The tow truck driver hauled me home.

He put my sweeties in the cab with us and he loved doing it. I had the Ford dealer come get it. They had it for three days......'puter issue!!! I declined a rental. We have 5 vehicles and I can get around in any of them.

My dad is using my Ranger all this week. He and my mom are fishing at one of their cabins on the lake. My dad always asks me...'Why does your Ranger never breakdown?? Why?' I got a good truck when I bought it new...

I would too but with the way this guy was treated you just have to ask yourself what if that was me?

Engine 2 was replaced he went after hours to pick up his truck so he had no paperwork. He never made it home before engine 2 blew. So back to the dealer for engine 3 they gave him the runaround for a month finally giving him his truck back he finds grease stans on the inside of the truck there are dents and dings all over his brand new truck. He drove with engine 3 for 2500 miles before it blew on the way to work the guy lives 8 hours from where he works... Engine 4 was installed he drove it for a few days then traided it in on a 2012 Raptor.

So in the end what was done about the customer service?? Not a damn thing.

Well I just read through 60 pages of madness.

I almost kinda think it has to be him. I read the first few pages this morning and I think it is him, not the truck, not the engine.

My dealership has sold a few hundred of these trucks, and we work on at least 200 of them, just the Ecoboost, in a given month. Aside from the CAC issues that they are trying to get hammered out and a few odd coils gone bad I think the worst problem we have seen on an Ecoboost is a handful of leaking o-rings at the turbo return.

I actually have yet to see a true failure of the turbo 3.5 that was not modified in some way. I have seen far more catastrophic failures of the 5.4 that everyone is so fond of.

Yeah, I kinda felt that way. How to you blow up 3 engines! It's closed though so, I don't think there will be any more juice flowing out of it. And I think there's a dash of trolling in there.

I'm inclined to agree that it is the driver. Definitely the driver on the first one, maybe an issue with the installation on the other two. Kinda makes me wander if the same guy put in the other three engines.

And I think there's a dash of trolling in there.

I think there's a little of that going on here as well. The OP joined in 2008, but his first two posts are in this thread.

There's something fishy going on. I read that it was posted on some other sites as well. I don't think 87 XLT actually has a ranger, and is either,
A: A troll
B: The guy with the truck problems
It is weird that all of a sudden now he starts posting things. And sure made a descriptive reply.

there was another 70 page thread...he ended up with a 2011/12 raptor with like 37s that he bought from a dodge dealer.
