Escorts 2nd SAS

yea thts definetly the best way to do an exo still cage the engine/rad in under the fenders then tube around the cab

It will run outside front fender and tie into the front bumper/stinger.

Haven't done anything to the ranger lately. Been to busy with the holidays and no extra money.....

So I had 2 weeks off work for holiday shutdown and was planning on redoing the steering. Plan was to have my buddy at getbentkustoms make me a trackbar bracket so I could make the steering over-the-knuckle. Well, he was busy...then I was busy...then he left town for the holidays and when he got back it was Dec.30th.

Today I was looking at the steering and I think I will scrap the 1ton tre and just go with 7/8" rod ends OTK so there won't be nearly as much play as the tre have.

Also been thinking of triangular 4link the rear...but not sure on what spring/shocks to use.

When your done with your trackbar mount send it my way.

This came today

I also ordered some 7/8 rod ends to replace the GM 1ton TRE, along with tube adapters and jam nuts.

The 7/8" rod ends and the double adjuster came today. I bought 10feet of 3/16x6 CR steel and 5feet of 1/4x6 CR steel yesterday. Steel cost me $13.
So, I am attempting to build my own version of Rusty's trackbar BRACKET. Have it all drawn out and will be taking it to my buddy Matt at getbentkustoms to cut it out on his plasma table. Tire will get mounted this Friday. So hopefully next week I will get the steering done...again.

Also will be buying a PSC 1.5x8" steering assist kit, will have to put it on credit card cause I can't seem to save the money.

EDIT: I missed a word

No, sorry, your not getting the trackbar and frame bracket...I'm keeping them. I'm making a new bracket at the axle.
:p

The factory location isn't the strongest for what you use it for.

Well, this morning on the way to work, I lost all power steering. So I thought I just blew out another seal in the broken steering box. On the way home steering came and went and I checked the fluid once I got home. Fluid level is still at full...so the pump finally took a poop.

So with that, I took a loan out on my 401k to get everything done, fixed, or finished on the truck. $2000 should be plenty to get it done.

Tomorrow I will order parts for the Saginaw pump swap. I need the remote reservoir for it. Plumcrazy is sending me a pressure hose for the swap.

I will have the remaining parts for the steering redo this week sometime, along with the Rusty's trackbar bracket.
Once I get the steering done I will try to see if the steering ram I have will work, if not, ill just order the PSC kit and be done with it.

And, I might buy a tube bender...depending on how much cash I have left.

Question, should I keep the 28spline 8.8 and look for a Dana44, swap in a 31spline 8.8 and keep the Dana30 for now.

Keep the Dana 30 and build a 31 spline 8.8 with a Super 88 kit. Gear it and call it a day. Save the dana 44 for another day.

You seem to have a nice truck and it seems to work well. I would keep the current drivetrain until you really break it.

I hope to get a bender with part of my tax return :) First year with a kid. Kind of excited haha
