Walker Flexas Ranger.......yes another one!

Have a question for the people running 9in/d44 combos.

Im ready to plumb my brakes but I need to buy a new master yet. Is there something better to use other than a 83 Ranger power brake master cylinder that will bolt right up to my stock booster?

I used a superduty hydroboost and mc, only had to drill 2 holes on the hydroboost mounting plate. The Lincoln mark 7 used a hydroboost with the 5.0, so that setup should be a bolt on ordeal for your setup...

same thing on the exploder and what I am going to use on the Ranja

I have a 94 F-350 master bolted up to my Ranger booster.

But I needed the bigger master for my front ThunderTurd calipers and F150 rears since they have a lot more volume to fill.

A stock master will be fine for 1/2 ton D44 and 9".

A big master will just give you a stiff pedal.

If you decide to disc the rear, use a 96+ ranger or explorer mc, as they are designed for 4 wheel disc. And before anyone says the 96 ranger didn't have disc on all fours, you are correct, but the 96 ranger and 95+ explorer use the same mc, they both have the same part number...

Leave it stock, save your money, if they suck(they wont) then upgrade to a f350 master, bolts right on. I got one for a '96 for about $35 new from Napa, just need a propotioning valve if you buy a new one, used ones will have it. The fittings are different too, but otherwise, direct swap.

Yup. My 95 stock master was fine with my stock D44 calipers and expo rear calipers.

I picked up a "dummy" prop valve that just adapted the 18mm oring to 3/16 inverted flare. On my 1 ton master.

My pedal is a little stiff, but planned on hydroboost anyway.

OK so maybe I will get a 96+ ranger/explorer master for now and see how it feels. Right now Im unsure if Im just going to freshen up the stock rear drums or do a disc swap. Depends on how much money I have that day. lol

Slow progress this week due to waiting on parts.

I did however do a tune up on the motor which needed plugs, cap and rotor much more than I thought. I got a 96 Explorer master mounted up for brakes. And I got the axle in position for mock up. I tore the Kings down and will be setting the up for 4" of stuff and 8" of droop.

I ordered weld on coilover brackets from Ballistic Fab that will put lower mount between upper balljoint and radius arm wedges.
I also got frame brackets,1.25 Heims, inserts are being machined to fit my 2" .250 wall tubing and Im having the stock radius arms machined down so they will slide into the tubing.I will do final welding once I have decided on what length they will need to be. I got 7º C-bushings that I hope will work out with a lengthened stock radius arm.
I test fitted my trimmed fenders also.

you gonna cover the battery? it's gonna get all sorts of dirt and junk flung into it on the trail

Nice. I'll be looking for a pair of 12" c/o's soon for my Trac when I put the 60's under it...

When I get my sheet of aluminum for the bed I may make a panel to protect it.....or I might just leave it.

You could also get a plastic cover used in marine applications

What you waiting for, get that aluminum already :thefinger:
