Walker Flexas Ranger.......yes another one!

Looking good so far, did you get the front axle in yet?

SVT

Not yet. After I get the bed cage done I will start on front suspension. Still hunting down parts to rebuild the axle which I would like to do on the bench rather than under the truck also.

Ok good weekend. Got a lot done.

I had to cut out bottom of core support for winch clearance then I had to rebuild the area around the body mounts on the passenger side from battery acid damage. The whole corner under the battery tray was gone so I made some patch panels and rebuilt that area also.

I got the 2" bodylift finished and cab bolted back down and mounted up my rocksliders. Started bending tube and got the main hoop in and the fender tops.

Took some time to think the rest through and added my brace for the main hoop then started running tape.Spare tire will get mounted in this location.

I made hoops to go under the rear of the fenders for my tails and have trailer markers for the side of the frame rails.

All the manual brake crap is off and all the 2wd suspension is cut off, all clean frame up front.

lookin very nice:icon_thumby: im saving up to do a similar bed on my first gen:icon_welder:

Looks good. I see a lot of similarity in your bed and jon(86 slo-vo) and gregg(97trailrigdd)'s beds. I haven't really decided how I'm going to fab my bed yet...

Spent a good 8hr cutting, notching, bending, welding and scratching my head today. Yes Im that slow. Its my first cage so piss off. lol

Got rear braces/tail light hoops in today and have filler panels cut. You can see the 80º bend of the fender tube in this pic. I hate how the other pix make it look like its just a square bed.

The two outside tubes will make up the tops of my fenders. Added a second hoop that still needs all the other bars added yet.

Should have hoops braced and rear down bars finished tomorrow. I also have my spare tire mount bent up but need some tube inserts and some hiems.

Have filler panels welded in for the tails now also.

Few more tubes to add then I can start cutting aluminum for fender tops and bed sides.

That's a pretty good looking 2 wheeler you have there, its coming together :icon_thumby: :D

SVT

Takin a few days off to catch up around the house then it wont be a 2 wheeler for much longer!

where are you at?

Another solid day on the truggy.
Cage is finished except for some 1" square tubing I gotta add for some braces and bedsides. I also turned truck around so I can start on dropping motor in and building from suspension. I rolled the d44 under to see how much of the stock crossmember needs to be trimmed and to curb my curiosity on what its gona look like in a few weeks.

And here is my tire carrier. Need to add the tabs to the top rails that the pins go through still.
3.5" tube fits in center of rim, plate will hold rim down and the bar tires bedsides together.

Starting on radiator mount tomorrow and picking up all the other tabs I need for mounting aluminum for bedsides and fenders.

Time for an overdue update.

Been workin hard on it and now things are moving fast! The motor is now in and after 3 different sets of mounts Im happy with how it sits in the truck.
walker9008.jpg

Frame cut to clear headers then plated to restore some strength. There will be more tubing for the coilover hoops goin in so it will be much stronger when Im done.
walker9006.jpg

Had to cut out the stock crossmember since it was only 3" away from axle sitting at ride heigth. Made this one that tucks up much closer to the oilpan and clears the axle alot better.
walker9010.jpg

I also got the winch plate on and finished the core support. Mounted and plumbed the powersteering cooler.
walker9009.jpg

Bed floor made and jack mounted.
walker9004.jpg

Interior tore out so I can make a cross bar behind the seat for the 5pt belts to mount to and Im doing roll on bedliner on the floors instead of carpet.
walker9003.jpg

Rear rad mount finished and all rear cage work in done now. Ready for paint.

Have cardboard cutouts made of the fenders and bedsides that I will take in to Ron MIller Racecars to be cut out of aluminum. This week I plan to finish swapping the power brake parts in,coat the floors, paint the bed and start running wiring and plumbing.

Looks good, but where you plated the frame instead of a straight vertical weld you should have fishplated it. Right now the straight weld from top to bottom is now your weak point in the frame...
