I notice at least a handful driving around town every time I drive so I'm just wondering how common they are around your neck of the woods.

I see them more often than vettes or other relatively expensive vehicles. Then again it IS Texas but damn thats seems like quite a bit of them running around.

Bunch of them runnin around here too. They're less than 50k though.

I have a friend in town that has one, his aside it still isn't that uncommon to see one... which is impressive considering they offer little advantage in my area over a regular truck.

My friend had his on a ramp at the local carshow, I have ribbed him a little about the frame bending thing... I was really wishing I could dig out a ratchet strap and tie the rear axle up on one side so it would stay flexed when he backed it off :D

i see them every day.

from Mackinac to immokolee

little advantage? shit i would figure they would be a deficit.

more money less payload.....not something farm friendly.....but afterwork....:D

Yea, it's a glorified rich kids play toy. That's IT.

Farm truck aside, for the local offroader there isn't much desert to tear up with high speed travel... we have gravel roads forming a very consistant 1 mile grid. Terraces would crumple it up like an empty tator chip bag if somebody tried it otherwise... (and they didn't get shot for tearing up the $5-10k/acre farmland)

really? i thought they were closer to the 60k range. Anyways even 50k is a hell of a lot of money!

very true but they sure are purdy.

That would have been too funny lol.

MSRP on ford's site for a bare bones raptor is $43,350.

I reposessed one. those things are absolutely badass. superfast for a stock truck and we used it to pull an f350 up a hill in the mud over about a 12inch wall. we took it offroad on aterrible washout water tower access road and it rocked hard. I love the front camera, its nice not needing a spotter. as far as commonality I see about one a week.

hmm well after a handful of options, tax, title, and license i can see it inflating to more than 50k. Besides how many people get close to the MSRP for a luxury vehicle like that?

I see several of them every day. Several different colors. The silver seems the most popular. Mostly they are used for errands and takes the kids to school…..lots of money for a taxi......lol….make those kids walk or ride a bike….gaaahhhhh.
I have two friends who bought them and already have issues with them. One is a 2011 and the other is a 2012. My buddy with the ’12 takes it offroad twice a month and he has started to have rear frame issues and a 4x4 engagement issue. The other Raptor has had three motor issues (valve issues and a water pump issue at 4,000 miles and a pan gasket went out about three months after the water pump was replaced.. The trans went out on him at 7,000 miles. They both were pissed since they had no issues with their F150’s. Both were covered by warranty of course. Luck of the draw? Both trucks are miles apart and both from different dealerships as well. Go figure…..

maybe you can chalk it up to early years of production, they might need tweaking.

only trans issues i have seen were due directly through some serious abuse.

frame is a gm guy flaw....kick in the nuts.
