it really is pretty simple the slightly larger tires allow for lower rpms on the freeway using less gas without having to turn too much more weight the distance compensates for the reduction in power i dont jump on it too often i drive like a sane person quick shits and dont do 70 mph all day long
Yep.....it's true...you can get better gas mileage on the highway with a taller tire (as long as you don't go TOO tall causing the engine vacuum to drop too much)....and technically your getting better gas mileage on the highway than you think with the inaccurate speedometer (shows fewer miles than you actually traveled when compared to the GPS)
now...it gets worse....you can get better gas mileage on the highway with a SHORTER tire (if the stock tires are actually lugging the engine)...shorter tires will put the engine rpm at the "right spot" causing the engine vacuum to increase using less fuel!
