Not Another CTOR Build

Well had a shakedown run today on some private property.....and it performed magnificently, the last place i wheeled was at this same place. And that time i broke early and broke a few different things and never really got a chance to drive the obstacles on the property. But today i did almost every obstacle and did ever one with ease except for one. Truck was awesome and the TSLs are FAWKING awesome compared to the Iroks i had. Just totally happy overall.

Having trouble with photobucket right now though.....so pics are coming

i picked up another 5 point for the pass side but don't like the way it mounts, so i am in need of another one again.

took some shots of the front susp. heres the LF at ride height

heres the Front diff at ride height, i was concerned about clearance of the diff to engine cross member

heres the diff as stuffed as i can get it in my yard,

heres the fender to tire at flex, the tire just fits inside the fender without rubbing to bad

heres the droop on the RF

all pics were taken at the same time without moving the truck, i would like to get a chance to run up on an RTI ramp or similar to max test the flex. Haven't gotten the chance to do that yet.

i need to get holshotracer to come over with his rig so i can drive onto his tire and compare flex shots. I have a pic of my b2's LF tire on his LR tire when i had coils. Need to get one with my leafs

People assume that you can't get good flex unless you have coils and linked suspension, but I have seen TTB and leaf systems with great flex. Yours is a good example.

The reason the leafs flex better than the coils has absolutely nothing to do with the springs. If you 4 or 5 linked the axle the coils would do as well if not better. The radius arm solid axle Ford suspension is one giant sway bar. Thats the reason they make wristed arms and wristed axles. RB

yep....i just didn't want to spend the money nor the time to wrist or ext. heim the arms.....and the leafs are simple and easy to fix if/when a problem arises

I understand, It's just that allot of people blame the coil springs and it's the suspension that limits the travel in this case.

Well said Rulebreaker. The best flex is actually a 3 link, Were a 4 link does the same as the radius arms but are more flexible. The 3 link doesn't inhibit articulation at all. The problem is that if you take away ALL the sway control you end up with a very unstable vehicle. The first time I did a donut with the 'Frog I thought I was gonna die!

if you'd run a 3 link you'd have to have full hydro, unless I'm missing something.

pics look good-those are 35's no? I guess you do have a decent amount of lift but I'd say the clearance looks fine with the engine crossmember.

fender and core support removed

How did you do this and also if i did that to my 86 ford ranger could i put a newer fender and core support off a 89-91 ford bronco 2 or ranger!!
