1994 Ranger - starting small

Neither can I!

Good to see you back. Been wondering where you'd gone off to :)

Thanks LOL, I hope to get another ranger once the focus is paid off in oct. but most likly it won't happen till next year.

Edit:

Oh BTW I read in another thread you got accepted into the Army! Congrats!! What to you plan to go in for?

I'm trying for 68W, the medic position. Ideally I'll get combat medic, but I'm not holding my breath.

Hubs came in! Bought them off of a member here, who was very cooperative with me being flighty and busy. They're just replacement stock hubs, and I was looking at them last night and there are a few rings missing, and two are broken. Hopefully between the two hubs on my truck I can make up the difference. Pictures to come soon!

I'm expecting the core support on the 22nd, but given my area, I don't REALLY anticipate seeing it until the 30th.

So, I haven't touched the hubs yet. They're a little more involved than I can get into at work, but, as is usually the case when I finally find time to work on my truck (even if it's just to change the oil), I decided to pull the running boards.

To this!

The police mechanic also came in to do some side work yesterday. Apparently he's selling his bronco, though he wants more than I'd be willing to pay for it.

It needs a lot of interior work, but it's a nice looking truck. I'd rather have a BII if I were gonna go for it, though.

The 78-79 broncos and F series are my favorite body style for the full size, I like it! I like the look without the running boards myself also less stuff to catch the road salt in the winter.

Yeah. Less to block rocks, too, though. I noticed that pretty much immediately. They dump a lot of rocks here in the winter. They've destroyed most of my windshield - you can't tell in the pictures, but I've got a crack that spans it horizontally, one that's almost taken over on the pass side vertically, and the start to three or four good spiders.

It'll be time for a new windshield sometime next year.

The guy with the bronco wants 5k for it. He's got brand new 35s and rims on it, so that probably accounts for the huge bump in cost, but it's a 78, and I'll be willing to bet it's a dog to get moving. And there's nowhere legal to wheel where I'm at, so it's essentially all just for show. Not worth it in my book. Definitely awesome to look at though.

And, R_M, good luck with that 95! Saw the post in another thread. Gotta love the 3rd gens.

There's a pretty clean 92 for sale if you wanna come pick one up up here ;p

I've gotten a few things done but not a whole lot.

Replaced a few light bulbs, got all my parking lights working, and my third brake light (which has never worked for as long as I've owned/known this truck) functions.

I started painting the core support. Ironically, from black to black. But, I'm just POR 15ing the bottom half of it, since that's what rusted out on me on the old one.

Can you see the difference? lol

I'll be painting it the same blue as my axle shaft later tonight.

Also built a frame for the sandbags that will be making their way into my truck sometime this month. Nothing special there - just 2x4s and screws.

Moving back to Washington, hopefully in the next two weeks. All superficial projects for the truck are on hold, in an attempt to refocus more on it making the trip through the Yukon and BC.

Cool, what part of Washington are you moving to?

Moving to back to Bremerton. Grew up in the area but moved away about six years ago.

Oh cool. I was born in Kodiak and grew up there and on Bainbridge (don't hate me :D).

Oh, Bainbridge... Haha, can't hate you there, bud. My mom worked on Bainbridge for ten years. I practically grew up there myself!

Picture post, since I have done a few things to it recently.

Painted the rims up.

And this picture, just because I like it.

I also dealt with some surface rust on the doors, and built a sandbag frame for the bed.

Damn it looks clean in those pics. Good luck with the move, will you be able to continue with being a EMT?

Thanks! It was pretty clean when I took them. You can kind of see the wrinkles in the bed in the last one.

In theory, I'll be able to continue. I'll have to get my license transferred from Alaska to Washington, and I have no idea how long that takes. There's a department right down the street from the house, so hopefully I'll be able to volunteer with them.

Getting frustrated with my truck. It's developing axle issues and I am not equipped to handle those.

Anyone want to buy a 94 ranger? Comes with lots of parts, lol.
