Project Trail Authority (Official Build Thread)

I'd never looked through this thread until now, and your truck reminds me of my old '88..... But better.

Why make it all perty before, when your just gonna beat up on it?

Cuz I'm just weird like that. In reality, I don't think it's possible to actually make this truck look perdy:icon_rofl:

That's a great looking 88 there Sunk. White always looks good on the first gens. What happened to that one?

nice, that's the one i'm planning on getting as well

Werd! I've had my eye on it for a while now. I wish I would have taken a picture of the original fiberglass cove........That thing was all banged up, and leaking everywhere! Ha ha.

Does anyone have the part number for the Jeep XJ coil spring, that would work for the 6" lift? I've been doing a bunch of reading, but can't seem to get a part number. I read the tech library writeup on it, and got some great tips, but no part number. I would appreciate any help!

Thanks in advance!

It had an 8.8/D35 w/ 4.56s and lock-rights in it, but I killed 2 2.9s and was kind of over the truck, so I pulled pretty much everything off it but the motor.

The axles went to this-

Then this happened...

And I was broke, so I slapped the Ex 8.8 back in it and sold it.

I plan to get another wheeler when I move back up there next year... Not sure what type of RBV though..

Wow what a awesome build you got and I just read the whole thing and it took a while any way nice truck man

Hey Sunk, was that a 31 spline that you snapped? That's a bummer man. I'll bet you're looking forward to moving back home eh?!? There is no place like the Northwest:icon_thumby:

Thanks RSH! The shackles are the beltech 6400's http://www.google.com/products/catalog?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&channel=s&hl=en&biw=1144&bih=666&q=Belltech+6400+shackles&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=6332237970490739519&sa=X&ei=SRUwTtLZOM7pgAf5rcCmAQ&ved=0CEQQ8wIwAA, and I got about 2" of lift. I took the ford blocks out, and put in the 5.5" blocks that came with the lift kit in it, with the stock leafs. I'm thinking about putting the stock 2" blocks back on it though, and running the cheby leafs. I'm not a very big fan of lift blocks.....

Thanks Rangerman. It's taken too long! Ha ha. Back in December, I thought it would only take a few months:icon_rofl: Even budget builds take ton's of cash:icon_surprised:

I really appreciate the compliment man! Thanks

No it was a Ranger 8.8... I was too cheap to buy an Exploder axle, or have my gears set up in the axle that came with it lol. I guess that's why guys upgrade....

It's been almost exactly a year I've been gone, and I have a bit more than one to go... I've been counting the days since we got here.. :annoyed:

No problem bud! I'll make that happen for ya. I'll try and post that up this evening.

Yeah, things start to get expensive when building axles:icon_surprised: I have well over a grand into my D35, and the unfinished 31 pline, and that's with me setting the gears. Not to mention, I still need brakes!!! Ha ha

What part of Cali are you in? I grew up in the Napa/Sonoma area.
